Dorna must have their heads up their own a$$, because nobody could be in this much denial. No Eurosport, no Kawasaki, no Donington. And not even a full grid. Once again the fans come last. Does MotoGP have to die completely before they realise what they've done? If your World Champion comes out and says that the opposing series is far better entertainment, you should listen...

Trust me, this is superb news.

Those that say otherwise have either never been to the new Silverstone or have never moaned at the incredibly poor facilities at Donington.

I love Donington (and have been to MotoGP tens years straight) , but they have had years to get proper toilets, proper paths around the circuit and have failed etc.

When you go to Silverstone you are going to be amazed. The track has excellent grandstands, facilities, bike parking and viewing points and is at least a good a track as Donington (its just different).

At last Dorna have made one good decision. Lets hope they can make a few more.

What absolutely appalling news that the British GP is going back to that flat featureless, spectator unfriendly hell hole we call Silverstone. If they had to move because of F1 why not anywhere but Silverstone, we have some fantastic circuits like Brands, Cadwell and Oulton which follow the undulating topography and with a little injection on pits facilities would be ideal (other circuits get away with temporary facilities). But no we have to go to a boring airfield with only one main route in and out. Its time for the Dorna mafia to go, they are only interested in lining their pockets not our sport :?

I live close to both tracks in the Midlands, but won't be going to either.
I gave up on Donnington with its lousy traffic management and crap facilities for spectators - Sit on a mound of earth and walk miles to a tilted bog in the infield and queue with everyone else for a jimmy wazz - What century are we in ?
Silverstone has better facilities and traffic management for sure, but the lack of viewing is a problem and the distance the average punter is away from the track, another.
Last time I went, I ended up in the cafe in the infield, watching it on telly because you saw more...kind of defeats the object...and with 17 bikes at the moment, it's going to be pretty thin through the field.

Blah blah blah... " Donington is great... Silverstone rubbish... won't be going... rip off... Dorna ruin it..."

Jesus, does it take 50 people to say the same thing over and over?
(Oh and the word is 'lose' not 'loose...)

FACT: Donny facilities are crap. How many chances do you give them?
FACT: Rains a lot in the UK. Donny track surface notoriously bad and dangerous.
FACT: Most of the UK population live south of Donny- Silverstone is nearer.
FACT: Sport is a business, so wise up and realise economics comes into Moto GP.
Don't bite the hand that feeds you: if Moto GP stops earning, it folds.
FACT: I love Brands but Moto GP is too fast & too loud (sadly- best circuit in UK for me)

Absolutely dump! Who the hell made that decision to move MotoGP to the widest least undulating, boring circuit in the UK. You should be ashamed, that has to be an under the table deal.

Brands, Oulton and Cadwell are the best tracks in the UK but will never pass muster for a GP - just too dangerous. Agree with Jon M on all points and would just add that Silverstone is a terrible viewing circuit for obvious reasons but in the Roberts/Sheene era when I used to stand between Stowe and Club I could actually see two corners, sort of!! Won't be seeing you all there though: if MotoGP survives that long I will be watching it from my armchair (probably with the sound off if it's still only available on the BBC).

Hope the grid is bigger, else 17 bikes will be lost on Silverstone!
And of the three circuits Moto GP could go to, its going to the most boring from the point of view of the spectator. Reckon i'll watch it from the pub or the comfort of my armchair then i'll be able to see the action!!!
