i see people saying rossi broke stoner down last year. i wonder if its because of his crashes while leading. but hey, take a look at rossi crashing whilst second behind stoner. oh of course, rossi's crash was because of a bump. and surely, there's no bump in laguna seca.

"Doohan is totally overated"

Statement of a fool!

"Huge advantage"

More factory bikes around when Doohan was racing. At least 4-5 factory Hondas & the other manufacturers who had a minimum of 2 factory entries each.

"no competition whatsoever"

Apart from Rainey, Schwantz, Lawson, Gardner, Criville, etc etc. ALL Premiere class world champions who Doohan HUMILIATED on a regular basis.

"couldn't win on any else"

Won BOTH races at the 1988 WSBK Australian Round in his first international appearance. Broke the lap record a staggering 39 times that day and LAPPED the WSBK champ in both races. Won the 1991 Suzuka 8hr.

Overrated....thanks for a for a good laugh numpty :p

@Tagnut, when have you heard Stoner calling it the biggest pile of crap ever?

You're clearly not following the ball on the Bridgestone thing, I couldn't be bothered explaining it to you.

Waz-- isn't the ducati supposed to be the biggest pile of crap ever?? :?
Also on the tyre thing...are you trying to tell everyone that in the couple of winter tests Casey had he developed from scratch the bridgestone tyres.. which were better in 2006 also incidently... :?

Casey and his fans are so full of contradictions as to sound full of sh7te almost all the time....and that's nothing to do with Rossi or his fans... - Unregistered

Rossi not racing Doohan is nothing like Stoner racing Rossi.. infact it's nye on impossible to make that connection. Doohan is totally overated and isn't fit to clean Rossis boots. Huge advantage, no competition whatsoever and couldn't win on any else.
The secret to Caseys success was a faster bike than anyone else and special tyres developed specially for his ducati. Once everyone else got his tyres even with the power advantage he was getting battered.
Can't wait for next years excuse.. you ozzies you don't half like a good whinger..

@Dream on dreamer, "Don't fret guys Casey might win a championship, when Rossi retires" - yep, just like Rossi never had to race Doohan in MotoGP. Except wait a second - Casey HAS raced Rossi in MotoGP AND beaten him to the championship. Until Rossi started running on Stoner-developed Bridgestones, that is, and then made sure EVERYONE had to use Bridgestones so no one could potentially get a better tyre than him.

@Couldawouldashoulda, I don't recall hearing Casey criticising crap kit in recent times - throughout the season it's been notable how often he has praised the bike as pretty great and his own state of fitness as being the problem.

Whoops, there I go with balanced views again ...

Caseys biggest problem next year(apart from the big bang bike, less umph.) is that he has managed for the deluded few to perpetuate the myth that he shoulda, woulda, coulda, been winning championships easy but for misfortune, crap kit, mystery illness(take your pick). However third time takes all and if he comes up with another excuse next year I doubt the faithful will even be able to talk the talk..
Will be good to se Spies this weekend, definately has a bit more than your usual WSBK champ.
Have a nice holiday Vale you deserve it... Might just podium this weekend to the sound of firestarter..ibiza here we come..dom dom dom dom dom.
