Clearly an advertisement made to look like some kind of mini doco. I do not understand how someone of his caliber could get his thrills from hacking though some "track day" riders with a head start though? Especially after reading about Hayden's training collision with a slower rider.

Stay safe Spies, here's to a more fruitful 2012 year at Yamaha.

That was too PC for its own good.
I don't race road bikes (but do mx) but still ride in the fast group, and even I go faster than that!

The guy won the WSBK championship on an R1 and yet he's barely giving it the beans.
It's not Ben's fault, just someone at Yamaha obviously doesn't want the bike ridden hard for fear of lawsuit.
Interestingly, when Rossi rode the R6 for the anniversary DVD he was even backing it into corners...

boring as hell and pretty lame on the track. david checa and some other fast spanish guys were in there too. theyre really going to miss colin edwards as a salesman as hes the only rider worth watching in these marketing films. id always thought Ben Spies was just playing it supercool in his interviews but his disinterested act is tiring. maybe he really is just a boring mamas boy. great rider though and it will be interesting to see if he can bridge the usual half second difference to lorenzo on the 1000s

Was that really Spies or a double? I didn't see enough elbowz. Maybe he just wasn't riding it that hard, but it didn't look like his riding style to me.
