Andrea Dovizioso believes Jorge Lorenzo will be challenging for the MotoGP title in 2018 after a difficult season. The teammate of Lorenzo and MotoGP runner up said “Surely he will fight for the title, he will start as he did last season; fast, but between going fast and winning there is a difference, we will see how he faces this 2018." - Marca

Jorge Lorenzo also has full confidence in himself heading into next season. The Ducati rider said “I am a very honest person and I always say what I think… I think I’m the best you have to think and to achieve success I am a very compete rider, with many strengths, but I also have my weaknesses, but this also applies to Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi." - Marca

Kevin Schwantz, former 500cc world champion, says that Marquez “does incredible things in every round” but warn the Spaniard that he has to be be careful to avoid risks. Schwantz said “He has to find a way to ride strong and at the same time reduce the risk, because one day he can get hurt, maybe it’s just a broken clavicle or something simple, but that will slow you down." - AS

Suzuki rider Alex Rins is full of determination ahead of this season after a difficult start to life in MotoGP. The Spaniard moved to the top tier from Moto2 and has now said “It wasn’t an easy year for me. I had to deal with some delicate moments that were hard to digest… The aim is to fight for the podium every race, I should be ready. Racing in MotoGP is every rider’s dream and I’m proud to do so with a team that has been able to count on champions such as Sheen, Schwantz and Roberts in the past." - GP One

I love Crash's ability to nit pick quotes.
Any champion thinks they're the best, it's called a winning mentality. Without it, you don't win anything.

Also, I love how Dovi tries to explain consistency towards Lorenzo...the rider who holds the record for the most points scored in a season due to the most consistent performance...

Good to know Stoner will test the GP18 on Sepang before the offical IRTA test 24 jan on the same track

Rins sounds positive, although I'm not sure the bike is going to be podium quality.

Be interesting to see what Suzuki come out with for 2018 given the disappointment of last years bike.

"..not sure the bike is going to be podium quality." - dont let 2017 mishap confuse you. they took a wrong engine to the one year they had no concessions.. they wont make that mistake again and have regain concessions for 2018. they are on pace as anyone else.

Dovi is 100% correct that JLo will be challenging in 2018. JLo's attitude has always been "challenging", as his response to dashboard "suggestions" has already proved.

I think it was 3 years, Dovi tries to win a race on Ducati. He end up only the last 2 podium is the highest available with the bike. Then Stoner return to Ducati in 2016 and winning with this bike is suddenly possible. 2017 just proved winning on Ducati is repeatable while JL just do what Ducati rookie usually does, ignoring the bike and change to many things until they come full circle over and over again.

In 2018, JL might stop doing those silly things and start working toward winning the race and that is very challenging for Dovi to repeat the 2017 season. Anyway, Dovi had the upper hand to understand the feedback from the bike. The legendary feedback that other bikes don't usually did. Feedback that kill the champions career.
