Well, you can't win them all, eh? Marquez showed that he is human after all today. Surely that result will buoy Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Rossi on at the next round as they saw he can be beaten. Silverstone and the British Grand Prix is next up. Remember the cracker Lorenzo and Marquez served up there in 2013? Let's hope for more of the same this time around. Thanks for joining us today, we've enjoyed your company, we'll see you in 2 weeks time. Until then, bye!
14:03
UK Time
Marquez is in trouble in the championship after that rare off-day. Just joking. He (263 points) still has a 3 race advantage over Pedrosa (186), 77 points behind. Rossi (173) holds 3rd, 13 points behind and Lorenzo's (137) 2nd consecutive runner-up finish sees him close to within 36 points of his team-mate.
14:01
UK Time
That was Rossi's 245th MotoGP race - incredible that he's still able to pull off a podium finish even with an injury.
13:59
UK Time
Rossi's speaking now: "I have the injury, I start from the 3rd row. It was my fault. I'm very happy because this morning was very bad. I tried to ride but I had too much pain. The Clinica Mobile made a good setting with the finger! I'm happy, I finally get to beat Marquez for the first time and I want to be fast in Silverstone."

Our men have been hard at work. Read our race report here: http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/207739/1/pedrosa-victorious-marquez-fourth-in-brno.html

It can't be easy seeing your team-mate winning all before him. It would be difficult to begrudge Pedrosa that win after a superb ride.
13:54
UK Time
Here's the winner: "Overall I had a good experience at this track. When you are having run you get more motivation. Today I was very focussed, it didn't work out as I thought. I took my plan and I'm very happy. It's a little difficult when Marc is winning all the time so I'm very happy."
13:52
UK Time
Lorenzo in parc ferme: "Normally we don't have problems with the front. Here was bumpy, we didn't have the perfect set up to absorb them. We chose the soft one and it was ok. We finished the race good. No excuses though, I wasn't able to stay with Dani but that was a mistake as I just needed one more lap to catch him."
13:51
UK Time
Redding did come home 11th, ahead of Pirro, while Abraham just got the better of Leon Camier at the end. The Englishman still scored his 1st world championship point in the class with that 15th place. Great job.
13:50
UK Time
Lorenzo comes over and shakes Pedrosa's hand. He kept him honest throughout and that must feel like a win to him. His best ride of the season?
13:49
UK Time
Marquez is congratulated by his team. It had to come to an end at some point and with riders as talented as Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Rossi sharing the track, any machine weakness was bound to be exposed at some point.
13:47
UK Time
The results from an absorbing 22 lap MotoGP encounter: Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Rossi, Marquez, Iannone, Dovizioso, Bradl, Aleix Espargaro, Smith and Bautista.
13:46
UK Time
Rossi came home 3rd, Marquez 4th and Iannone responded to Dovizioso's late move by re-taking his future team-mate to finish 5th.
13:46
UK Time
A great ride by Pedrosa, a full 8 seconds ahead of Marquez! The man doesn't usually show a lot of emotion but he's punching the air in jubilation on the slow down lap. That's the release of a lot of built up frustration that he's endured this year.
13:44
UK Time
22/22: We're going up horsepower hill, Lorenzo is just 0.5s behind but his late, valiant effort isn't enough as Pedrosa takes his 1st win of 2014!
13:43
UK Time
22/22: Lorenzo takes another tenth out of Pedrosa, but surely he won't have enough time. It's 0.7s with half a lap to go.
13:43
UK Time
22/22: Dovizioso goes under Iannone at T3 to take 5th!
13:42
UK Time
22/22: Last lap and Lorenzo closes Pedrosa's lead down to 0.9s! Can Pedrosa's nerves hold out?
13:42
UK Time
21/22: Redding has got past Pirro to go 11th. Camier is well clear of Petrucci so world championship points are well on the cards.
13:41
UK Time
21/22: Gaps between the front 4 remain the same, with Marquez slipping further behind the 2nd Yamaha. Surely Dovizioso is lining up his countryman for a last lap move.
13:39
UK Time
20/22: Lorenzo takes out another tenth, Pedrosa's gap is 1.1s. Dovizioso is all over Iannone. There is a lot of Italian pride hinging on this battle for 5th. I'm surprised, Bradl has fallen well shy of the Ducati's performance today.
13:38
UK Time
19/22: Marquez has slipped close to 2 seconds behind Rossi. This'll be the 1st time he finishes a #MotoGP race off the podium in 1 1/2 years.
13:37
UK Time
19/22: The gap stays at 1.3s. Lorenzo has just 4 laps to close that gap - he's certainly keeping Pedrosa honest.
13:36
UK Time
18/22: Redding is all over the back of Pirro's Ducati. He can smell 11th place here! Camier has also passed Abraham to go 14th.
13:35
UK Time
18/22: Lorenzo is taking the odd tenth here and there, he's certainly not giving up and his soft tyre is holding up well. The gap at the line is 1.3s. Is Pedrosa taking a breather?
13:34
UK Time
17/22: Pedrosa's gap at the front remains at 1.7s. He isn't making an impression on that either. Rossi has closed on Lorenzo in the past 3 laps but there are still 2.2s between him and his team-mate with 6 laps left.
13:32
UK Time
16/22: You have to imagine Smith will be disappointed with 9th, as will Bautista with 10th. Pirro and Redding are having a nice, little scrap for 11th.
13:31
UK Time
16/22: Livio Suppo interviewed in pit lane: "It's a little surprising. I thought he would be faster but it will be a good battle for 3rd until the end. Dani is doing a great job at the front."
13:31
UK Time
15/22: 8 laps to go. Marquez is getting his 2nd wind and challenging Rossi again…although just as I write that he nearly loses the front into T10 and T11! Surely he's suffering from tyre issues.
13:28
UK Time
14/22: Rossi and Marquez are lapping some 0.3s slower than the front 2. Pedrosa and Lorenzo have checked out.
13:27
UK Time
14/22: Pedrosa's lead is up to 1.7s. Marquez was right yesterday…when is he not? Pedrosa was the man to watch today.
13:26
UK Time
13/22: Marquez is braking so late to stave Rossi off - he then brakes too late into T5, runs wide, and the Italian is through to 3rd! What a turn up for the books! Who predicted Marquez to be off the podium today?
13:25
UK Time
13/22: Marquez is in trouble! Rossi has taken all of 1 second out of him, and closes in down the front straight! He then lines him up at T3…surely this move will come soon.
13:24
UK Time
12/22: Brad Smith is closing in on Aleix Espargaro on 8th while Leon Camier is enjoying a close dice with Karel Abraham for 14th place.
13:23
UK Time
12/22: Lorenzo's gap over Marquez is now 1.4s. Rossi was 0.3s faster than the Repsol man. Could we see the championship leader off the podium today?
13:23
UK Time
11/22: Rossi was even quicker than Marquez on lap ten. He's closed to within 0.8s of the young Spaniard.
13:22
UK Time
11/22: Lorenzo is on a softer front tyre. Will that come into play come the end of this race?
13:21
UK Time
10/22: As he did the last time around, Lorenzo puts a tenth into Marquez in the 3rd sector, then another tenth through the final chicane. That gap is up to 1 second.
13:20
UK Time
10/22: The big question is whether Marquez conserving his tyres? Seeing Pedrosa running off at the front, I fancy he isn't. He isn't making the same furious progress on Lorenzo as we have seen in recent races. Here he's taking a tenth here, losing a tenth there. The gap remains at 0.8s.
13:19
UK Time
9/22: Iannone was aiming for a top 6 after his qualifying performance yesterday. He's still on track for that in 5th but Dovizioso and Bradl are honing in.
13:18
UK Time
9/22: Pedrosa is looking good at the front but Marquez is closing in. The gap between 2nd and 3rd was 1 second last time around, now it's 0.7s. The Majorcan will be sweating as he sees his pit board.
13:17
UK Time
8/22: Bradl is sitting 7th and closing on the Ducatis ahead. Aleix Espargaro is behind and his brother's crash has promoted to Brad Smith to 9th.
13:16
UK Time
8/22: Pedrosa has half a second in hand over Lorenzo. The gap back to Marquez is constant, still sitting at 1 second.
13:15
UK Time
7/22: Michael Laverty is out of the race, as is Pol Espargaro! The pair crashed in different incidents, Pol came a cropper at the bottom of the hill at turn 5.
13:14
UK Time
7/22: Looking down the order Scott Redding is 12th, Leon Camier 14th.
13:14
UK Time
7/22: Marquez and Rossi have already put a second into the chasing Ducatis. Dovizioso is closing in on Iannone ahead. Rossi is struggling to keep up in 4th, despite putting in his personal best lap of the race.
13:13
UK Time
6/22: Marquez is 1 second behind Lorenzo. Get ready to see that gap fall in the coming laps.
13:12
UK Time
6/22: We have a change of the lead! Pedrosa goes under Lorenzo at T3, Lorenzo has another sniff at T5 but the Honda man holds him off.
13:11
UK Time
6/22: Marquez is 3rd then and Rossi didn't waste any time getting by Iannone. The front 2 have around 1 second advantage.
13:11
UK Time
5/22: The Repsol Hondas are coming. Iannone and Marquez swap places through T3 and 4! Tough riders the pair of them! Iannone barges Marquez out of the way at T7 - Marquez has to stand the bike up and returns the favour at the next turn. They were certainly dishing it out there.
13:09
UK Time
5/22: I forgot to mention - Cal Crutchlow crashed on lap 2. We didn't see it on camera but he's rejoined the race.
13:09
UK Time
4/22: Lorenzo's lead is almost gone! Pedrosa halves those 0.8s in half a lap. Did Lorenzo make a mistake off camera? He certainly isn't breaking clear at the front.
13:08
UK Time
4/22: Lorenzo has 0.8s on Pedrosa. Rossi and Marquez haven't taken Iannone yet, but the #93 slides under Rossi at T3. Here comes the Spaniard!
13:07
UK Time
3/22: Lorenzo breaks the lap record on lap 2. Don't be surprised to see Pedrosa beat that this time around though.
13:06
UK Time
3/22: Iannone's time in 3rd is surely going to come to an end. Rossi and Marquez are all over him and desperate to get through.
13:06
UK Time
3/22: Dovizioso is going backwards. Rossi and Marquez both go through, Pedrosa is up to 2nd.
13:05
UK Time
3/22: Smith got a great jump but he got pushed back to 9th in the early laps.
13:05
UK Time
2/22: Pedrosa goes 3rd, taking Dovizioso at T10. The Spaniard is in the mood too as he sees Lorenzo getting away at the front.
13:05
UK Time
2/22: Rossi picks off Marquez, the Spaniard nearly tail-gated Pedrosa going into T5, ran wide and Rossi took full advantage.
13:04
UK Time
2/22: Lorenzo climbs 2 places at T3! He takes both Ducatis in one bold swoop! Brilliant riding from the Majorcan.
13:03
UK Time
2/22: Iannone still leads. Lorenzo is desperately trying to get past Pedrosa - he does so at the final chicane! He's 3rd now.
13:03
UK Time
1/22: Lorenzo puts a tough move on Marquez at T4! He took a wide line into 3, kept the outside line and stuffed Marquez the next time around. Rossi takes advantage and goes 5th.
13:02
UK Time
1/22: Pedrosa shoots to 3rd, Marquez 4th, Lorenzo 5th.
13:01
UK Time
1/22: Smith gets a flyer as the lights go out! Iannone leads at T1 though, Dovizioso 2nd!
13:00
UK Time
Watch out for Leon Camier, coming off 18th on the grid. Scott Redding starts from 15th, Michael Laverty 22nd.
12:59
UK Time

Valentino Rossi, who heads the third row of the grid in 7th, will be aiming to finish on the podium at Brno for the first time since he won the race there in 2009.
12:50
UK Time
Temperatures haven't increased dramatically this morning and we know the Yamaha favours cooler conditions. Could Lorenzo put up a fight reminiscent of his sterling Mugello effort this afternoon?
12:49
UK Time
Jorge Lorenzo starts from 6th. The Spaniard is coming off back-to-back podiums and was a full 0.5s faster than anyone in this morning's warm-up session.
12:49
UK Time
Marquez also cited that Pedrosa would be his main threat today, judging by his free practice times.
12:48
UK Time
Dani Pedrosa is next up in 5th. He likes Brno and has finished inside the top 2 4 times in the past 5 years.
12:48
UK Time
Smith recently re-signed with Tech 3 to continue with them in 2015. He knows he owes them a result.
12:47

Bradley Smith took his best grid position since Qatar with a fine 4th fastest time in Saturday's Q2 session.

A great stat from Martin Raines: This is the first time that Ducati have had two riders on the front row of a MotoGP race since
the final race of 2006 in Valencia when Troy Bayliss was second fastest qualifier and Loris Capirossi was in third place on the grid.
12:46
UK Time
Andrea Iannone was victorious in an epic Moto2 encounter here in 2012. He starts from the front row for the 2nd time this year.
12:45

Remember Dovizioso's speed at the start of last week's race? He'll be mixing it at the front in the early stages today. The question is how much of a problem will he pose to the Yamahas as they try to reel the Hondas in?
12:44
UK Time
Andrea Dovizioso equalled his best grid position with Ducati by qualifying 2nd, the same position as a week ago at Indianapolis.

That win sees Rabat (208) extend his championship lead to 12 points over Kallio (196). It's a 2 horse race at the front with Vinales (150) 46 back of the Finn. Aegerter (123) pulls further clear of Corsi (100) in 5th.
12:18
UK Time
Incidentally that was Cortese's 1st podium finish since November, 2012.
12:18
UK Time
Debut Moto2 podium man Cortese: "It was so important to start from the front row today. I had a great start but I lost a position to Lowes. It was so difficult to follow Kallio. When Lowes crashed it was a difficult race, it was so easy to make mistakes on this track when you're alone. But I'm so so happy with this podium."
12:15
UK Time

12:13
UK Time
That'll be a huge relief to Rabat. Quotes in the Spanish press suggested he was extremely frustrated after finishing off the podium at Indy. You felt perhaps the pressure was getting to him but that was an emphatic response today.
12:12
UK Time
Rabat speaks! "It's very important, the last races weren't good. From the first practice I try and the results come. I try to push from the start. Some rain came, they didn't stop the race but it was ok. I'm going to keep fighting and I'm very happy."
12:10
UK Time
Here's Kallio: "More or less happy. We can be satisfied, after the 2 crashes. We changed the settings in the front fork, we came back to last year's settings. It was a good step, a big risk but it was better in the race. I was able to follow Tito in the beginning but I saw he was too fast. I took points and it's really good for the team."
12:09
UK Time
Rabat isn't known for his post race celebrations but he has picked up a friend from the side of the track - the friend was dressed in a onesie with a chequered flag design that covered his head - not totally dissimilar from a certain character in Pulp Fiction... Questionable fashion tastes to say the least on show there.
12:07
UK Time
The top 10 after 20 laps of Moto2 racing: Rabat, Kallio, Cortese, Luthi, Aegerter, Vinales, Simon, Morbidelli, Zarco and Schrotter.
12:06
UK Time
Morbidelli came home ahead of Zarco and Scrotter while Axel Pons - credit where credit is due - rode a fine race to finish just outside the top 10. He led home Corsi and Syahrin in a close battle for 11th.
12:05
UK Time
Each of Rabat's 5 wins have come from pole position this year. He really is irresistible in this kind of form. That was an important win, on a track Kallio won at last year. That's his 1st podium in 3 races too.
12:03
UK Time
20/20: Kallio takes 2nd, a debut podium in the class for Cortese in 3rd and Luthi hangs on, staving off Aegerter's charge to get a fine 4th.
12:02
UK Time
20/20: Rabat re-stamps his authority on this championship with a dominant win! He made that look easy and crosses the line for his 5th win of 2014.
12:01
UK Time
19/20: Cortese has really slackened the pace but he should have enough in hand to come home 3rd. Vinales has made a mistake off camera, Luthi and Aegerter set their best laps of the race to pull 10-12 bike lengths on the chasing Spaniard.
11:59
UK Time
19/20: A quick word on Syahrin. The Malaysian is just behind Axel Pons in a tight scrap for 11th. He's building on that impressive ride at Indy.
11:59
UK Time
18/20: Barring a disaster the top 3 will stay in their positions but Luthi's 4th is under continual threat. It's a 4 rider battle as Simon joins the party.
11:58
UK Time
18/20: Vinales fires a warning at Aegerter! He shows the Swiss rider his wheel into T1 but has his nose cut off. Behind Simon Franco Morbidelli has passed Zarco and Schrotter to go 8th - another impressive ride from the Italian.
11:56
UK Time
17/20: Salom has thrown his Kalex down the road, and he isn't happy. He throws his arms up in the air in frustration - he's struggling to find that early season form that garnered a podium.
11:55
UK Time
17/20: Rabat responds instantly. The gap is back to 2.7s. We have a great battle for 4th at the moment though. Aegerter is looking for a way past Luthi in front.
11:54
UK Time
16/20: Vinales is all over Aegerter and Simon is closing in on the battle for 4th too. On the last lap Rabat could be seen signalling to race direction, presumably to tell them of the rain. If this race is stopped a result will be called but there hasn't been sufficient rainfall to force race direction's hand.
11:53
UK Time
16/20: The white flags with a red cross are being shown, there is drizzle around the circuit. Rabat loses 0.5s on that last lap, his lead drops to 2.3s. Kallio is pushing with 5 to go.
11:52
UK Time
15/20: Vinales is getting closer. The gap to Aegerter is less than 1 second.
11:51
UK Time
15/20: Cortese has had the hurry up. He's maintaining his 2.5s gap back to Luthi in 4th.
11:50
UK Time
14/20: A dejected Lowes is speaking in the Speed Up garage: "I don't know, I made a mistake. I didn't have a great feeling on the front and was trying to not lose so much time on the front guys. I was positive, got a good start and just want to apologise. I hope I can go onto Silverstone and get my first podium there."
11:49
UK Time
14/20: There are spits of rain falling in pit lane. That could mean a premature end to this race!
11:48
UK Time
13/20: If Vinales could sort his qualifying out he would be a regular threat for the win. He's coming into his own now, leaving Simon in his wake and honing in on the two Swiss riders ahead.
11:47
UK Time
13/20: Luthi and Aegerter are still together. The pair lapped faster than Cortese for the first time last time around, can they reel the German in?
11:46
UK Time
12/20: Things are a little strung out at the front - a sharp contrast to the opening race of the day. Rabat has 2.8s in hand at the front while Kallio has 4 seconds over Cortese.
11:45
UK Time
12/20: We have yet to see a performance drop from Cortese's tyres. He's holding his own in 3rd and is on course to take his first podium in the Moto2 category.
11:43
UK Time
11/20: We're seeing another fine showing from Franco Morbidelli in 11th. Zarco, Schrotter and Pasini aren't too far away in the distance. A top ten for the Italian would represent a good afternoon's work.
11:42
UK Time
10/20: We're seeing Mulhauser and Popov coming off at T7. Popov put a hard move on the Swiss, then lost the front through the long left. Mulhauser isn't too happy - that's his 3rd crash of the day!
11:41
UK Time
10/20: Zarco is now up to 8th, heading Pasini and the impressive Schrotter.
11:40
UK Time
9/20: The gap at the front is down to 1.5s but you fancy Rabat is controlling this. Luthi and Aegerter have gapped Vinales who can't shake Simon off.
11:39
UK Time
8/20: Sam Lowes pulls into pit lane. His afternoon's work is over.
11:39
UK Time
8/20: Simone Corsi is heading a fairly exuberant battle for 12th that includes Rossi, Salom, Pons, Cardus, Simeon, Folger and Syahrin.
11:36
UK Time
8/20: Rabat has this one sewn up. The lead is up to 1.7s.
11:36
UK Time
7/20: A podium certainly isn't beyond Vinales here and he's dragging Julian Simon with him too. Luthi and Aegerter will be looking over their shoulders in the very near future.
11:35
UK Time
7/20: Rabat now has 1.4s in hand at the from. Cortese is by himself in 3rd - the top 3 are doing 2m 2s lap times while the rest are circulating in the 2m 3s - but Vinales is closing on the 2 Swiss riders ahead.
11:34
UK Time
6/20: What a shame for Lowes. He has certainly shown that he has the speed this year to compete at the front of this class. With a little more experience you rather fancy that he'll be a regular podium man next year.
11:32
UK Time
5/20: Lowes has gone from the timing screens! He crashes out of 3rd at the tight turn 8 while chasing Kallio. He's back in the race but his hopes of points are over. What a shame for the Englishman!
11:31
UK Time
5/20: Rabat breaks Zarco's lap record to eke out another 3 tenths. Lowes sets his personal best too - his gap over Cortese is 1 second.
11:30
UK Time
4/20: Kallio's really working on the gap for 1st. It's remaining around 1 second. Lowes is doing a fine job holding on in 3rd as Cortese pulls clear of Luthi. Meanwhile Nagashima crashes out at T3.
11:29
UK Time
4/20: Corsi has been a little disappointing so far, losing out to team-mate Pasini in 9th. Schrotter is a place behind in 11th with Zarco and Salom fighting over 12th.
11:28
UK Time
3/20: Vinales takes 2 more places, he's 7th now. Sensational stuff from the reigning Moto3 champ. He has 1 second to close if he wants to tag onto the back of Cortese, Aegerter and Luthi.
11:27
UK Time
3/20: That didn't take long! Kallio goes under Lowes at T3. Rabat is 1 second ahead and Lowes would do well to tuck in behind the Finn and see if he can get a tow to the front.
11:26
UK Time
3/20: Kallio takes big chunks out of Lowes - he's all over the Englishman and sets the fastest lap of the race on L2. Rabat is 0.9s ahead.
11:25
UK Time
2/20: Vinales didn't help himself with that dodgy qualifying. But he's making amends today, he picks of Schrotter to go 9th - that's 8 places in 1 lap!
11:24
UK Time
2/20: Luthi is 6th with Corsi, Simon, Schrotter close behind.
11:24
UK Time
2/20: Kallio just went under Cortese at the final chicane to go 3rd. Rabat's lead is 0.5s, Kallio is 0.7 behind the Englishman.
11:23
UK Time
1/20: Rabat is trying to replicate Kallio's early form from Indy. He's clearing off at the front. Lowes is the only man staying with him at the moment. Kallio is 4th.
11:22
UK Time
1/20: A great start by Lowes too! He jumps up to 2nd at T3!
11:22
UK Time
1/20: We're off, all the front row get away well but Rabat goes 1st! Cortese 2nd, Aegerter gets a great start from 7th to slot into 3rd!
11:20
UK Time
We're hearing that Cortese has also gone for a medium rear tyre. That could give him and Lowes an advantage in the opening laps of this race.
11:19
UK Time
Watch Maverick Vinales from 17th on the grid too. The warm up lap is underway.
11:18
UK Time
Here is the Moto2 grid: Rabat, Luthi, Cortese - Lowes, Corsi, Kallio - Aegerter, Schrotter, Folger - Morbidelli, Simon, Zarco - Pasini, Salom, Pons.
11:17
UK Time
We're hearing there are spots of rain falling in pit lane.
11:17
UK Time
Kallio has crashed twice this weekend but he was commanding last weekend. Keep an eye on him from 6th.
11:16
UK Time
Taking the final place on the second row is Mika Kallio, his worst qualifying result since the Italian GP. Kallio won the Moto2 race at Brno last year – his first win in the Moto2 class.
11:16
UK Time
Simone Corsi is in fifth place on the grid, equalling his best qualifying result of 2014, which he had just seven days ago in Indianapolis.
11:16
UK Time
Sam Lowes has gone for a softer option rear Dunlop tyre, while the rest of the top 6 are on a harder compound. He starts from 4th and is looking for his 1st top 10 since Mugello.
11:15
UK Time
Sandro Cortese is in third place on the grid – his fourth front row start of the year. Cortese took his first ever grand prix victory in the 125cc class at Brno in 2011.
11:14
UK Time
Thomas Luthi is in second place on the grid, which is his first front row start since the Malaysian GP last year. Luthi has finished on the podium at Brno for the last two years.
11:14
UK Time
Tito Rabat starts from pole for the seventh time this year and for the first time since the Dutch TT. All four of Rabat’s wins this year have been from pole position.
11:14
UK Time
If that Moto3 race didn't set your pulse racing then nothing will. On to Moto2.
11:11
UK Time
Apologies. The championship positions we gave a few minutes ago were out of date. Here are the updated standings. Miller (169) leads Marquez (146) by 23 points. Vazquez (145) is a point behind but 10 ahead of Fenati (135). Rins' (125) costly mistake means he now sits 44 points off Miller in 1st.
11:06
UK Time
Rins' team manager says he saw something on track that suggested it was the last lap. He didn't say anything about a team error so we're guessing that was Rins' mistake.
11:01
UK Time
How many times have we said the Moto3 affair was a classic this season? I feel this season will live long in the memory. Race pace was 1 second off the pace they were setting in qualifying but who cares when we have racing like that? Well done Alexis Masbou! We'll be back in 10 minutes to build up Moto2!
10:59
UK Time
Bear in mind 11 years separate 1st and 2nd on the podium! Bastianini looks so young on the podium, 27-year old Masbou a relative geriatric by comparison!
10:58
UK Time
Rins' last corner "incident" was reminiscent of Julian Simon in 2009 at Montmelo. Simon held his hands up and admitted that was his mistake. I'm sure we'll find out what happened to Rins in due course. Whatever the reason, that was a very costly mistake.
10:56
UK Time
Another incredible ride from Bastianini. The pain he was referring to was his ankle, which he cracked in a practice spill earlier in the weekend. Fenati may be challenging for the title but I feel Italy have another young star on their hands.
10:55
UK Time
Bastianini in parc ferme: "The pain is enormous! The 1st lap I don't have maximum gas, the last corner many riders passed me. But at the last corner I pass Miller and Marquez and get 2nd."
10:54
UK Time
Although Miller was off the podium he didn't look too disappointed. Vazquez was back in 8th, Rins 9th and Fenati 11th. Of his title contenders only Marquez finished ahead.
10:52
UK Time
Incredibly 1.9 seconds covered Masbou and Guevara in 16th after 19 laps of racing! What a race.
10:52
UK Time
Here are the results: Masbou, Bastianini, Kent, Marquez, Miller, Binder, Oliveira, Vazquez, Rins, Vinales, Fenati, Ajo, Antonelli, Kornfeil, Hanika and Guevara.
10:50
UK Time
Pit lane reporters are saying Rins' team are apologising to him. Did they give him the wrong signal? If so that's devastating for the young Spaniard.
10:50
UK Time
Stunning stuff from Masbou. I really didn't see some of his performances coming this year.
10:49
UK Time
Here's Masbou: "Finally! It was a long time. Since Assen we've been getting better. Last weekend I was disappointed not to be on the podium but my bike was very good here. I had a good setting to brake very late, I did it on the last lap and I'm very happy!"
10:48
UK Time
Here's 3rd placed Kent: "Bloody hell! I felt strong all race, got myself in a good position on the 2nd last lap. I had a moment, dropped back to 9th but put some moves in on the last lap. It's great to be back on the podium."
10:47
UK Time
We're seeing replays of Rins crossing the line with 1 to go. He led over the line, sat up punching the air while 10 other riders piled by. He was 14th coming out of T1 and somehow salvaged 9th. He hangs his head over his tank as he completes the victory lap. he can't believe it!
10:46
UK Time
That has to be Kent's best ride since his last GP win in 2012. He literally came from nowhere in that pack. Bastianini's 2nd podium in the class too!
10:45
UK Time
That was an incredible finish…Miller will be scratching his head, wondering how he lost that. Masbou came from nowhere, put a great, clean move into the final chicane. Miller weaved to go back around the outside, lost drive and was helpless as Bastianini, Kent and Marquez drove by.
10:44
UK Time
Marquez followed through to gain 2 valuable points on Miller, he got 4th!
10:43
UK Time
19/19: Wow! What a finish! Masbou pushes Miller out at the final chicane to lead across the line! Bastianini and Kent took full advantage to slide under to take 2nd and 3rd!
10:42
UK Time
19/19: Miller leads up the hill! Here comes Masbou, and Marquez!
10:42
UK Time
19/19: Miller edges out another bike length. Here comes Marquez though… Binder runs wide at the bottom of the hill, Kent goes 5th.
10:42
UK Time
19/19: Miller leads out of T4. Marquez is just behind, Bastianini, Binder, Masbou and Kent are all poised….
10:41
UK Time
19/19: Last lap! Rins thinks he's won! He misjudges the laps! He leads over the line and punches the air but there's one more lap! He's down to 14th! I can't believe he made that mistake!
10:40
UK Time
18/19: Rins leads at the final chicane!
10:40
UK Time
18/19: Rins is 2nd, he's sticking right behind Miller. He's poised to make a move with just over a lap to go.
10:40
UK Time
18/19: Miller takes 2 in 1! He leads half way round. Danny Kent is 4th! Where did he come from?
10:39
UK Time
18/19: This is incredible. 16 riders vying for the win! Bastianini has it at the moment, Marquez then Miller.
10:39
UK Time
18/19: Oliveira had a massive moment going into the final chicane. Meanwhile Miller leads into T1! Has he timed this to perfection?
10:38
UK Time
17/19: Miller goes 2nd, picking off Masbou at the downhill chicane. What a lap this is from the Australian!
10:38
UK Time
17/19: Miller has rolled up his sleeves, he jumps to 3rd through T3 and 4. Rins is hanging just behind in his slipstream.
10:37
UK Time
17/19: Marquez is fantastic into T1, he goes 1st again, but Bastianini led over the line. That could be vital for the last lap.
10:36
UK Time
16/19: Bastianini is prepared to rough up the front men! He leads into the final chicane!
10:36
UK Time
16/19: Championship-wise this result would suit Marquez. As he leads Miller hovers in 7th, Vazquez 10th and Fenati 9th. The latter 2 really need to get a wriggle on is they want to make some valuable ground up on Miller.
10:35
UK Time
16/19: 4 to go! Masbou leads, Marquez, Bastianini, Rins and Binder aren't far behind!
10:34
UK Time
15/19: Just as Bagnaia was making progress he gets all out of shape coming out of T4, runs off track and rejoins. He's incredibly fortunate to stay on after that. He's down to 17th.
10:33
UK Time
15/19: While Fenati languishes in 10th his team-mate Bagnaia is up to 5th! Luca Grunwald has fallen at T3.
10:33
UK Time
15/19: I know I've said this before but Rins is looking good, he's climbed to 3rd. The leaders have upped the pace by close to a second but the 17 are sticking together.
10:32
UK Time
14/19: Is Vazquez feeling the effects of his Saturday tumble? He's 11th and sliding down, through the points.
10:31
UK Time
14/19: Five go into T3 together and somehow 5 emerge from T4. Masbou, Marquez, Rins, Binder and Oliveira were doing a lot of pushing there.
10:30
UK Time
14/19: But his lead lasts all of 10 seconds. Marquez shuffles him down to 2nd at T1.
10:30
UK Time
13/19: Binder hits the front at the final chicane!
10:29
UK Time
13/19: Miller puts a real tough move on Oliveira at the bottom of the hill, the Portuguese has to pick up and loses out to Bagnaia. Rins took advantage of that, dashing under both of them to go 5th.
10:28
UK Time
13/19: I'm surprised we haven't seen more of Fenati, he's still 11th. Kent is a place ahead in 10th.
10:28
UK Time
12/19: Oliveira is up to 4th as we see the wild card Gabriel Rodrigo having a huge get off at T6! He's lucky to walk away from that.
10:27
UK Time
12/19: I have my eye on Rins. Is he struggling or keeping his powder dry? He's currently keeping Miller at bay in 6th but not for long! The Australian picks him off at the bottom of the hill.
10:25
UK Time
11/19: We still have a group of 17 riders at the front. SEVENTEEN! A quick rundown: Mar, Mas, Bin, Bas, Oli, Rin, Mil, Bag, Vaz, ViI, Ken, Kor, Fen, Ant, Han, Ajo, Gue.
10:24
UK Time
11/19: Oliveira doesn't like Binder stealing his thunder, he's 5th and has a sniff at Bastianini through turns 3 and 4. Rins is just behind in 6th.
10:24
UK Time
11/19: Masbou and Binder have recovered brilliantly. Masbou goes 1st into T1, Binder trails Marquez in 3rd.
10:23
UK Time
10/19: Fantastic save! Binder got a little too close to Masbou that time! Bastianini comes under both of them at T1, pushes the Frenchman wide at T1, it looked as though they were going off track but they both saved it! That was naughty from the young Italian. I can't imagine Masbou would be pleased with a move like that.
10:21
UK Time
9/19: Binder has really grown into this season. The past 3 races have been impressive and he's going toe to toe with Masbou at the moment. The pair duke it out throughout the lap as the pack close in from behind.
10:20
UK Time
9/19: McPhee speaking in pit lane: "Navarro is an idiot" he says. No doubt who the Scotsman blames for that incident then.
10:19
UK Time
8/19: As they climb the hill Masbou has made a break with Binder following. There is a small gap back to Bastianini in 3rd now. Can they break clear?
10:18
UK Time
8/19: Local men Kornfeil and Hanika are in this group too: Kornfeil is 12th, Hanika 17th.
10:17
UK Time
8/19: Marquez slips under Masbou at T1 to lead. Binder remains 3rd, Vazquez is looking good just behind.
10:17
UK Time
7/19: Danny Kent is 14th now but still just over 1s behind the leader. This is anyone's race.
10:16
UK Time
7/19: Masbou, hot off his brilliant performance in America, hits the front with a brave out-braking move at T1. Binder passes Bastianini at T4 to go 4th, then under Miller a turn later to go 3rd. Another fine ride!
10:15
UK Time
6/19: Fenati is still 13th. Expect to see the Italian getting his elbows out very soon.
10:14
UK Time
6/19: Rins slips to 6th as Binder climbs the order. The South African is 5th at the moment and stealthily making his way through the pack.
10:14
UK Time
6/19: We have a train of 15 riders at the front, all within 1.5secs of each other.! We have another classic on our hands. Marquez is managing to hold the lead, Miller is 2nd now with Masbou 3rd.
10:12
UK Time
5/19: We're hearing reports that McPhee is back in pit lane. The Scot is ok but he's absolutely fuming, meaning Navarro or Fenati were surely at fault for that 2nd lap incident.
10:11
UK Time
5/19: Turns 1 and 3 have seen crazy sort-outs  so far. The field go into T3 6 abreast - Marquez brakes latest, Miller starts to make a play. He's up to 4th.
10:10
UK Time
4/19: Fenati was a second faster than Marquez last time around, showing how much time the leaders are losing by swapping places. Bastianini is back up to 2nd, getting past Rins around the infield.
10:09
UK Time
4/19: Fenati is the fastest man on track - he's 12th but only a second behind the leader - it's that close at the front!
10:08
UK Time
3/19: Great move by Rins! He looks in the mood today and he grazes Bastianini's right knee into the chicane at the bottom of the hill. He's 2nd now.
10:07
UK Time
3/19: Rins is looking good in 3rd, he's biding his time at present. Vazquez is up to 4th - Masbou, Miller, Oliveira, Vinales, Bagnaia and Antonelli follow.
10:07
UK Time
3/19: Bastianini was fastest here on Friday morning, he's running up front like a seasoned pro. He goes past Marquez on the run to T3 but again loses out on the brakes. The chasing pack close right in as they trade places.
10:06
UK Time
2/19: Fenati was caught up in that incident too. He ran wide while the other pair ran into the gravel and has dropped several places as a result. What does McPhee have to do to catch a break?
10:05
UK Time
2/19: Fenati is looking a little wild, running wide out of the final corner. McPhee and Navarro crash at T1! That's the 2nd time in a week that they have tangled together. We didn't see what happened but McPhee is down but ok.
10:04
UK Time
1/19: McPhee is 12th while Fenati hasn't started well. His team-mate Bagnaia is ahead of him on the 1st lap.
10:03
UK Time
1/19: Bastianini and Marquez trade places through the 1st chicanes, Miller is 3rd, Vinales 4th, Rins 5th.
10:02
UK Time
1/19: The lights go out, Vinales gets away well and leads in to T1 but runs wide. Marquez comes straight through to lead! Bastianini is up to 3rd!
10:01
UK Time
19 laps of this 3.3 mile circuit. This is going to be a tight one, Danny Kent, speaking on the grid, said he expects 6 riders to be challenging for the win.
10:00
UK Time
The warm up lap is underway. Here's the grid: Marquez, Vinales, Antonelli - Rins, Oliveira, Miller - Masbou, Vazquez, Bastianini - Fenati, McPhee, Kent.
09:59
UK Time
That’s right. It was, of course, Lukas Pesek, who finished 3rd here in the 125 event back in 2007.
09:59
UK Time
10 points if you can guess the first…
09:59
UK Time
Local rider Kornfeil starts 13th. History is against him though. He’ll be aiming to be only the 2nd Czech rider to stand on the podium at this circuit.
09:58
UK Time
John McPhee and Danny Kent will start from 11th and 12th. I'm sure they will be looking to catch Fenati's tow in the opening laps of this race.
09:57
UK Time
Romano Fenati has once again given himself a lot of work to do from 10th place. The Italian was desperately unlucky not to win last time out but then he was starting from 4th. How will he fare in the opening laps here?
09:56
UK Time
Masbou, Vazquez and Bastianini make up the 3rd row.
09:56
UK Time
Miller could be seen hitting out at riders yesterday after getting held up on a flying lap. The Australian is certainly fired up with his protracted move up to MotoGP on a production Honda all but confirmed.
09:55
UK Time
Championship leader Jack Miller starts from 6th - only the 2nd time this year he hasn't started from the front row.
09:54
UK Time
Miguel Oliveira scored his best qualifying of the year with the 5th best time.
09:54
UK Time
Alex Rins was much improved in yesterday's qualifying with the 4th fastest time. That was his best Saturday result since Catalunya. Like Marquez, Rins really needs to get some good points on the board today as he begins to lost touch with the championship leaders.
09:53
UK Time
Antonelli is racing for a ride for 2015 at the moment with team boss Fausto Gresini confirming recently that the Italian is likely to move on at the end of the season.
09:52
UK Time
He may have had a season to forget so far but Nico Antonelli put a late lap in to qualify 3rd, his 2nd front row of the year.
09:51
UK Time
Yesterday he was followed by Isaac Vinales who starts from the front row of the grid for the 1st time in his GP career.
09:50
UK Time
This is only Marquez's 2nd pole. He did the same at Catalunya earlier in the year and went on to dominate that race.
09:49
UK Time
The younger Marquez needs a strong race today after missing out on a chance to get one over Jack Miller at Indianapolis.
09:49
UK Time
The Marquez brothers made history yesterday, yet again. Marc set the fastest time in MotoGP qualifying while Alex grabbed pole position in Moto3. They are the 2nd pair of brothers to start GPs from pole on the same day. The other pair, Christian and Dominique Sarron did so 3 times.
09:46
UK Time
Anyway, we digress. Onto Moto3, which is due to start in just under 15 minutes.
09:46
UK Time
A certain Valentino Rossi scored his first GP win here in 1996. We have seen some epic battles too, notably Pons and Garriga (1988), Criville and Doohan (1996), Rossi and Gibernau (2003) and Pedrosa and Lorenzo (2012). Let's hope we can add to that list today.
09:45
UK Time
We’ve been coming to this current 3.3mile layout since 1987 and there have been a lot of memorable moments along the way.
09:45
UK Time
Brno is a circuit that can certainly match Mugello for prestige and history. Assen is the only other place to have held more grand prix since 1949 than Brno in the south-east Czech Republic. Today will see the 151st, 152nd and 153rd grand prix run in this city.

09:43
UK Time
Several paddock heads have commented how these cooler conditions will play into Yamaha’s hands when we get to the MotoGP event. Jorge Lorenzo proved that this morning, lapping half a second faster than anyone else and setting a fierce pace. Could we have another Mugello-esque battle on our hands today?
09:43
UK Time
And we’re happy to tell you that although rain has threatened and fallen at various points this weekend conditions are currently cold but dry. Temperatures are rising.
09:43
UK Time
We’re bringing you coverage of all three races today: Moto3 at 10.00 GMT, Moto2 at 11.20 and MotoGP at 13.00.
09:42
UK Time
Good morning and welcome to Crash.net’s live commentary on the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic.
14:15
UK Time
Well. It looks as though Marquez will be tough to beat tomorrow and Pedrosa has certainly gave himself a lot of work to do by starting on the 2nd row. How will the Ducatis of Iannone and Dovizioso fare too? You'll have to join us to find out. We'll be here with coverage of all 3 races from 10.00 GMT. See you then!
14:13
UK Time
Smith looks happy with 4th: "It's a place that suits me well. We're in the right place. I don't know where that lap came from, I suddenly found a second. I was a little nervous going into the last corner as I saw I was up on my timing screen and didn't want to run wide. Maybe that was the 0.004s [from the front row]."
14:12
UK Time
Here are the full qualifying results: http://www.crash.net/motogp/results/207693/1/motogp-czech-republic-full-qualifying-results.html
14:10
UK Time
Surprise front row man Iannone: "In Indy was a bad race. Now in Brno I'm happy with this practice. Marc helped me a little but I pushed hard and I'm happy for Ducati and me."
14:09
UK Time
Pole man Marquez: "Tomorrow I expect a tough race because the rhythms are very similar. I think Dani will be the strongest. We need to improve my start, do my best and we will see."
14:08
UK Time
Dovizioso in parc fermé: "I'm surprised. In FP1 we were really competitive. We don't have the chance to fight at the front of the race but we are closer. This is the target, and we got a really good lap time."
14:06
UK Time
It was tight at the top but Marquez's 1m 55.585s lap was good enough by 0.12s. It still wasn't quick enough to better Crutchlow's pole time from last year which was 0.05s faster!
14:04
UK Time
Here's how the front 4 rows will line up on Sunday: Marquez, Dovizioso, Iannone - Smith, Pedrosa, Lorenzo - Rossi, Bradl, P.Espargaro - A.Espargaro, Crutchlow, Hernandez.
14:03
UK Time
Marquez has powered to his 9th pole position of 2014 with another sizzling effort. Dovizioso gets another front row start and Iannone continues his excellent Saturday form with 3rd.
14:02
UK Time
Rossi did a fine job at the end to get 7th in the end. So then, Brad Smith, top Yamaha? Wow.
14:01
UK Time
Lorenzo salvages 6th. Not perfect but a big relief not to be down on the 4th row.
14:01
UK Time
Smith is on a flyer, he's quick through sector 3, and eventually goes 4th! 0.004s off the front row! What an effort from Bradley.
14:00
UK Time
And Marquez goes fastest! Dovizioso goes 2nd! Suddenly Lorenzo is 10th!
14:00
UK Time
Iannone's lap goes away from him, Marquez's pace is such that the Italian runs wide while chasing him.
13:59
UK Time
Pedrosa is so close, just 0.06s from Iannone, but he's 3rd!
13:59
UK Time
Pedrosa is looking good, he's 0.04s off with 2 sectors to go. Marquez can go quicker too, as his first split proves.
13:58
UK Time
Here comes Marquez. And he goes fastest but for all of half a second. Iannone follows the Spaniard successfully to go fastest!
13:57
UK Time
Lorenzo is keeping cool in pit lane. Mechanics are starting his 2nd bike, they've changed both front and rear tyres, and he's on his way out onto track.
13:56
UK Time
We've seen this before from Iannone. He is right on Marquez's rear wheel as they start their flying laps. With 4 minutes remaining they have 2 opportunities to improve.
13:55
UK Time
Rossi is back on track.
13:55
UK Time
Hernandez and Crutchlow are 11th and 12th as things stand.
13:54
UK Time
Quick run down of the top 10: Mar, Ped, A.Esp, Dov, Ian, Lor, P.Esp, Brd, Smi, Ros.
13:54
UK Time
7 to go. Marquez follows Iannone out of the pits. Lorenzo isn't happy in pit lane. He wants front and rear tyre changes.
13:52
UK Time
Pedrosa is just 0.1s off pole in sector 3, he can't make it up through the final chicane. He improves on time but not a place. The same can be said of Rossi who remains 10th despite going faster than before.
13:51
UK Time
Iannone also put a better time in than Lorenzo, who fails to improve on his best the 2nd time around.
13:51
UK Time
Pedrosa goes 2nd, behind his team-mate. Dovizioso goes 4th behind Aleix Espargaro.
13:50
UK Time
Rossi's time is only good enough for 10th. He might need to feel his way into this one.
13:50
UK Time
Aleix Espargaro immediately goes faster but Marquez puts in a 1m 55.7s!
13:49
UK Time
Lorenzo is pushing hard, you can see his front end moving on corner entry and he sets a 1m 56.3s from the off.
13:48
UK Time
Lorenzo is in the mood. He's yet to score a pole all year and he gets his flying lap underway. Aleix Espargaro and Hernandez aren't far behind.
13:46
UK Time
Lorenzo is eager to get out on track. He's the only rider waiting as the marshal raises his flag to get the 15-minute Q2 underway.
13:43
UK Time
Redding's time is all the more impressive then considering his difficulties on the bike.
13:42
UK Time
Scott Redding in pit lane - "A little unhappy. We're struggling with grip, we're spinning everywhere, the front is sliding. I feel like I'm always going to crash and I don't feel comfortable."
13:41
UK Time
Fine work from Redding to push his team-mate yet again. Also, another top 20 qualifying for Leon Camier today. 18th place and yet more progress made today.
13:39
UK Time
Grid spots from 13th onwards are: Pirro, Bautista, Redding - Aoyama, Abraham, Camier - Petrucci, de Angelis, Barbera - Laverty, Parkes, di Meglio.
13:38
UK Time
Another good performance by Hernandez. The Columbian continues to impress.
13:38
UK Time
Massimo Meregalli confirms that Rossi is ready to go for Q2.
13:37
UK Time
Pirro's final lap didn't go anywhere so Bradl and Hernandez qualify for Q2!
13:36
UK Time
...but the lap goes away from the Spaniard! A top 2 time seemed possible but the last 2 splits let him down. He improves to go 4th.
13:36
UK Time
Bautista isn't far away. Redding has pushed him back to 5th...
13:35
UK Time
Pirro is going really well. He was fastest coming out of the 3rd sector but lost 0.3s in the final push! He has another chance to go 2 better.
13:34
UK Time
90 seconds remaining. Bradl remains in his pit. Bautista goes 4th while Hernandez loses a potential fastest time in the last split.
13:33
UK Time
The camera switches to pit lane. Rossi returns to his garage. He motions to his mechanics and looks ok. We'll see him very soon indeed.
13:33
UK Time
Bautista is really pushing the front end of his RC213V, he does so again into T1 as he starts his flying lap. That earlier spill clearly hasn't deterred him.
13:31
UK Time
Aoyama has suddenly woken up - a glance at temporary team-mate Leon Camier's times would do that. He jumps up to 5th, a tenth behind Redding's best.
13:30
UK Time
Michael Laverty put in a 1m 59.1s time, good enough for 10th so far. That's a full second faster than his team-mate at the moment.
13:29
UK Time
The order 1/2 way through Q1: Bradl, Hernandez, Pirro, Redding, Aoyama, Bautista, Abraham, Camier, Barbera, Laverty, Petrucci, de Angelis and Parkes.
13:28
UK Time
7 minutes to go in this session, riders are on their way to the pit lane and a change of tyres.
13:27
UK Time
...and Bradl goes back to the top with 1m 56.7s, a tenth ahead of Hernandez. Pirro goes 3rd on the Ducati test machine while Scott Redding is working minor miracles in 4th - ahead of team-mate Bautista!
13:26
UK Time
Leon Camier is holding 7th in this session at the moment while Bautista and Hernandez could both improve this time around...
13:26
UK Time
Di Meglio, who suffered a massive off in FP4, has just thrown it down the road again. That'll be his qualifying efforts over. He failed to set a time.
13:25
UK Time
Hernandez quickly betters that with a 1m 56.8s to go top! Redding goes 3rd, Bautista 4th.
13:24
UK Time
Here comes Bradl - he puts in a 1m 57.1s lap, a fine opener from the German.
13:23
UK Time
Bradl is the 1st man to start a flying lap. Bautista, Abraham and de Angelis aren't find behind.
13:22
UK Time
Alvaro Bautista, who crashed at the same place Rossi did, was seen with an ice pack on his hand in his pit garage before heading out. The Spaniard could really do with a good session today.
13:21
UK Time
So we're more or less running 10 minutes behind schedule at the moment. Q2 should start at 13.45GMT.
13:21
UK Time
Q1 is underway.
13:20
UK Time
Official confirmation. X-rays showed no fractures in Rossi's hand. He has been declared fit to ride in Q2.
13:19
UK Time
We're seeing replays of Rossi's crash. Bautista also came a cropper at the same corner while following the Italian. It was going into the uphill T12. Bautista has reportedly said he felt he might have hit something - perhaps small debris - on the track.
13:17
UK Time
We'll also be keeping a close eye on Leon Camier who has continued to impress this weekend. He finished 17th in FP4, just 2.6s off Rossi's best.
13:15
UK Time
As we look ahead to Q1 the likes of Bradl, Hernandez, Bautista and Redding will vie for the top 2 spots to progress through to Q2.
13:14
UK Time
Matt Birt has taken to Twitter to say no bones were broken in Rossi's hand and he should be fit to continue in this afternoon's session. Let's hope that news is correct.
13:12
UK Time
The top 10 in the combined free practice that qualify for Q2: Pedrosa, Marquez, Smith, Lorenzo, Rossi, Iannone, P.Espargaro, Dovizioso, Aleix Espargaro and Cal Crutchlow.
13:11
UK Time
The chequered flag comes out to bring FP4 to an end. Rossi's time wasn't headed, although a skating Marquez was certainly trying, if the shape of his bike is anything to go by. Pedrosa, Marquez and Pol Espargaro followed 'The Doctor.'
13:09
UK Time
This morning's session was also notable as Dani Pedrosa set an ominous pace. The Spaniard was disappointed to say the least with his showing last weekend and clearly has a point to prove.
13:07
UK Time
Speaking of Crutchlow, the Englishman was much improved in this morning’s FP3, ending free practice 10th overall meaning he automatically qualifies for Q2 courtesy of his free practice time for the first time since Mugello.
13:07
UK Time
Looking back at this session last year, a certain Cal Crutchlow grabbed his 2nd MotoGP pole ahead of Alvaro Bautista and Marc Marquez. How times can change, eh?
13:04
UK Time
We have live coverage of the 2 qualifying sessions today. Q1 will probably start at 13.15 with Q2 getting underway around 13.40 GMT.
13:04
UK Time
We'll give you the news as we get it.
13:03
UK Time
Rossi was seen holding his left hand after the spill while walking gingerly through the gravel. Word from the medical centre is that one of his fingers has taken a bang but he should be ok.
13:02
UK Time
Valentino Rossi is the fastest rider in this session but the Italian has since crashed and gone to the medical centre.
13:02
UK Time
There was an incident in Moto3 qualifying where one of the air fences was damaged and had to be replaced. We're running a little behind schedule as a result as FP4 has 8 minutes remaining.
12:59
UK Time
Forecasts for tomorrow are positive, with sunshine and some clouds predicted.
12:59
UK Time
Thankfully we have dry conditions for the 2 qualifying sessions this afternoon after rain prevented riders tinkling with dry race set-ups in yesterday afternoon’s FP2.
12:58
UK Time
Good afternoon and welcome back to Crash.net’s live coverage of MotoGP qualifying from Brno.
14:03
UK Time
Well, that's everything for today. We'll be back again tomorrow at the same time (13.00 GMT) to bring you live coverage of MotoGP qualifying. Until then, enjoy your Friday. Bye.
14:01
UK Time
So come Sunday, whether conditions are wet or dry, you can count on the Repsol Hondas to be strong.
14:00
UK Time
A strange session, that. Looking at the rider's wet-weather runs Marquez had plenty of laps in the 2m 9/10/11s with one in the 2m 7s. Pedrosa wasn't quite as consistent but still managed some fast times overall.
13:58
UK Time
The likes of Bautista and Crutchlow will be hopeful of dry weather on Saturday morning as the look to automatically make it into the top 10 for Q2.
13:55
UK Time
So when we look at combined qualifying times the top 10 looks like this: Marquez, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, A.Espargaro, Rossi, Bradl, Dovizioso, Hernandez, P.Espargaro and Smith.
13:54
UK Time
But, bear in mind those were set in either damp or wet conditions. Should it rain tomorrow morning we'll go back to FP1 times, set in the dry, to decide who qualifies for Q2.
13:53
UK Time
The top 10 from this session then: Iannone, Barbera, Marquez, Pedrosa, Rossi, Crutchlow, Lorenzo, P.Espargaro, Smith and Bradl.
13:52
UK Time
Dovizioso improves to 12th but other than that we have no movers in the top 15. Iannone's early time was good enough to top FP2!
13:51
UK Time
Barbera has fallen! The 2nd fastest rider this afternoon slides into the gravel trap as the chequered flag comes out. He's up and walking away.
13:49
UK Time
The sun is out but turns 4 to 9 are still wet. Marquez's best set in the wet is still 4.6s slower than Iannone's time from the intermediate conditions earlier this afternoon.
13:46
UK Time
5 to go: Conditions are drying so expect to see some faster times in the next few minutes. Hernandez climbs to 11th, Aleix de Angelis is down in 24th.
13:44
UK Time
The nadir of Lorenzo's season undoubtedly was the wet race in Assen. The Majorcan was a shadow of his former self that day but he has been much improved in the rain since. A podium in iffy conditions in Germany followed and he looks good this afternoon too. He's felt his way into the session, not done anything too spectacular early on, and now sits 6th overall (4th best in the wet).
13:42
UK Time
The Repsol Hondas are on the move. Marquez skates spectacularly out of the final corner to go 3rd overall (fastest in the wet), Pedrosa a place behind.
13:42
UK Time
Look out for photos from this session in our qualifying report. Riders are out on track with clear visors, giving photographers a fine opportunity to snap riders with their eyes visible.
13:40
UK Time
10 minutes to go. Iannone has had an off-track moment, Pol Espargaro is up to 5th. Rossi is a place behind.
13:39
UK Time
Crutchlow is up to 3rd - essentially the fastest man in the wet in this session. One of life's great mysteries...how can the Ducati work so well in the wet when it's such a handful in the dry?
13:38
UK Time
Rossi finally starts to impact the top ten, he's up to 10th. Lorenzo is still languishing in 14th.
13:37
UK Time
A good few minutes for the Brits! Crutchlow goes 4th, (2nd fastest in the wet), Redding 7th and Smith 9th.
13:35
UK Time
Camier is putting another good account of himself in, sitting ahead of team-mate Aoyama in 20th.
13:35
UK Time
Dovizioso places 8th as we finally get a glimpse of the factory Yamahas. Lorenzo was 17th, jumps to 12th. Rossi is 16th.
13:34
UK Time
If we discount Iannone & Barbera's times set in damp conditions, Marquez is fastest in the wet, going ahead of Pedrosa. Bradl jumps up to 5th.
13:32
UK Time
The top 10 with 20 minutes to go: Iannone, Barbera, Pedrosa, Marquez, Petrucci, Hernandez, Bautista, Bradl, P.Espargaro and Smith.
13:31
UK Time
Scott Redding is enjoying himself out there. He goes 8th, Petrucci 5th.
13:31
UK Time
Pedrosa puts in another time, a 2m 9s time. That's still some 6 seconds slower than Iannone's time set right at the start of the session. The rain has stopped but conditions will need to dry quite a bit in the next 20 minutes if that time will be beaten.
13:29
UK Time
Marquez is out on track and immediately slots into 4th, behind team-mate Pedrosa. Petrucci is enjoying a good run at the moment, jumping above Pol Espargaro to 7th.
13:28
UK Time
15 riders have set a time in this session so far, including Scott Redding and Leon Camier.
13:28
UK Time
The Espargaro brothers go 7th (Pol) and 8th (Aleix) while Bautista climbs to 6th.
13:26
UK Time
To give you some idea of track conditions - Pedrosa and Petrucci go 3rd and 4th overall with 2m 14s lap times.
13:25
UK Time
Bautista is hoping to put an utterly wretched weekend behind him with a good result here. The Spaniard had to suffer the embarrassment of qualifying behind his team-mate and his race was over at the third turn on lap 1. He's circulating on track at the moment.
13:22
UK Time
Still just two riders who have set competitive times so far (Iannone and Barbera). Brad Smith and Scott Redding join Pedrosa out on track.
13:21
UK Time
With 30 minutes remaining Dani Pedrosa emerges from the pit lane to get some wet weather practice.
13:20
UK Time
We have some action on the track. Karel Abraham is putting some laps in but the first part of the track is properly wet. Riders have full wets fitted.
13:19
UK Time
de Angelis was 19th this morning with Camier 22nd and Pirro 11th.
13:18
UK Time
The rather confusing circumstances surrounding Colin Edwards' premature retirement have resulted in Alex de Angelis taking over the Texan's ride for this weekend. Edwards maintains he'll be back this year though, with Silverstone supposed to be a certainty.
13:17
UK Time
Also. News from the paddock suggests Jack Miller's move to LCR Honda, aboard an 'Open' production Honda, is all but a done deal.
13:16
UK Time
Some news regarding 2015 to update you with. Bradley Smith has resigned with the Tech 3 Yamaha squad for one more year, giving him another opportunity to go head-to-head with Pol Espargaro for some MotoGP podiums.
13:14
UK Time
The brolly girls in pit lane have their umbrellas raised at the moment. We might have a short wait on our hands before we see some on-track action.
13:12
UK Time
Most riders are returning to their garages, choosing to wait for the current shower to end rather than risking an early accident in the treacherous conditions.
13:10
UK Time
Iannone and Barbera are the only riders to have set a fastest time. But with the fastest being 2m 3s riders are circulating some 7 seconds slower than the best times from this morning.
13:09
UK Time
Such is the length of the Brno track (3.3 miles) there is a chance of rain falling at one or two corners while the others remain bone dry.
13:08
UK Time
Judging by the rider's body positions on the bike it's spitting with rain out on track!
13:08
UK Time
Nearly everyone is out on track with Marquez the exception. Michele Pirro is wildcarding this weekend with the Ducati test team. Watch out for the number 51.
13:06
UK Time
Rain is forecast for later in the afternoon and tomorrow morning, meaning the field is anxious to post an early lap time to qualify for tomorrow's Q2 session.
13:05
UK Time
The 45 minute FP2 is underway.
13:05
UK Time
As was the case in Indianapolis, Leon Camier substitutes for Nicky Hayden this weekend aboard Aspar's Production Honda. The Englishman will be hoping to build on a seriously eye catching debut in the class.
13:04
UK Time
It's of no surprise to hear Marquez was fastest in this morning's FP1 session...but it was tight at the top. Lorenzo was jus 0.03s slower, Pedrosa 0.05s. Aleix Espargaro and Valentino Rossi both showed strongly too in 4th and 5th.
13:01
UK Time
But first, the weather. This is the sky overhead at the moment in Brno, tweeted by the official MotoGP feed a few minutes ago: https://twitter.com/MotoGP/status/500240831769759744/photo/1 - Let’s hope it stays dry for MotoGP FP2!
13:00
UK Time
Marquez won here in 2013 but Brno has been a Yamaha track in the past...and it should favour Rossi and Lorenzo this weekend with its flowing layout littered with a succession of fast chicanes.
13:00
UK Time
Be it in rain or sun, from pole or pit lane, the 21-year old has won in most circumstances imaginable.
13:00
UK Time
Enough of the past. What about the present? Well, Marc Marquez comes to Brno in irresistible form, having scored ten straight wins in the class.
12:59
UK Time
Of all the riders who have competed on the new layout Valentino Rossi is the most successful in the premier class with 5 wins - the most recent of which was in 2009. Biaggi and Rainey both scored 3 wins in 500s/MotoGP, while Australians Stoner, Doohan and Gardner all won twice around the 3.3 mile track.
12:59
UK Time
As Martin Raines points out, Johnny Cecotto won the last ever grand prix played out on a roads circuit here in 1977. Organisers subsequently realised the surroundings were too dangerous and the first GP was held at the current circuit in 1987, with the layout remaining mostly unchanged since.
12:58
UK Time
Back then the likes of Hailwood and Agostini had a 13km road circuit to contend with - ‘Mike the Bike’ won the first 500cc race here in 1965 ahead of the Italian, with Australian Jack Ahern 3rd on his Norton.
12:58
UK Time
Assen is the only place in history to have hosted more grand prix than the town of Brno, whose GP pedigree spans all the way back to the 1960s.
12:57
UK Time
We are at the stunning Brno complex for the eleventh round of 2014, a track and area steeped in two-wheel history.
12:56
