Aprilia has officially confirmed that it has abandoned its Moto2 project.

If you want an example of short notice, look at the teams that were dropping riders mid-season this year, or having riders sit out on certain rounds. That's short notice.

As it stands - as an OEM on par with Honda, Yamaha, etc in that they make their engines and frames - Aprilia would be putting significant part of their reputation at risk in trying to tune a chassis for Honda's 600 for a small chance of reward. In this economic climate, not a smart decision.
