MotoGP » 'New era' for MotoGP as 1000cc returns in 2012

MotoGP is set to return to the era of 1,000cc engines from 2012 onwards, it has been announced, following a meeting of the Grand Prix Commission at the FIM headquarters in Geneva.

Power slides may not come back with TC equipped 1000s, but we might see some "backing it in" on turn entry. Also, braking zones should be longer, and that's where most passing takes place.
