His ride did seem a little slower than expected and many predicted - I suspect that some time with Doohan may well have rubbed off though - as Mick used to say 'you only need to ride fast enough to win'. If I'm right here expect a lot less disappearing off into the distance with the possibility of chucking the bike down the road and a lot more doing what's needed to win the race from Stoner.

I agree 100%, I also read recently that Casey spent some of the winter break watching 3 - 4 years worth of Doohan races. I think he won today by maintaining a comfortable margin and not going flat out as in the past, he also looked so relaxed and fresh after the race, especially compared with poor Dani.
