Just days after announcing that Toni Elias would again stand-in for the injured Hector Barbera at Indianapolis this weekend, Pramac Ducati has now announced that Barbera will try to ride.

If, as rumoured, Ducati run both 'senior' and 'junior' factory teams next season, I think that Barbera has done enough to deserve a place in the junior squad, (including qualifying on the front row at Mugello without a tow, well ahead of the factory bikes). That would give experience and continuity of feedback in both teams, with Hayden alongside Dovizioso in the senior and Barbera probably with Iannone, or perhaps Redding, in the junior.
