Valentino Rossi will start from a 2013 best of fifth on the grid in Sunday’s Spanish MotoGP, despite a big accident at the end of qualifying at Jerez.

Aus I think MichaelG comment was a polemic statement rather than statement of fact. The fact is Australian's are renowned for the tall poppy syndrome, and this comes from an natural born Australian. While I have no doubt of Stoner's skill I found his attitude in most cases pretty appalling (Last race at PI and he got his minders to refuse a 5 second Channel Ten a piece to camera). You don't get that with Rossi. Anyway he has gone fishing and slipping back through the order in the Dunlop support series.
