After finishing third the US MotoGP at Laguna Seca, Valentino Rossi was in good spirits as he reflected on the opening half of his Yamaha comeback season.

I've said it for a long time now.... as the season wears on, Honda's mighty resources and wallet will see them clear off into the distance as Yamaha's stretched R&D cannot stretch 5 engines at the same pace as HRC can.

its gone quiet on the 'engines used' topic, but Yam had cracked open twice as many (4) for Jorge as the Honda boys - when the season was one third gone.

Ok - thats not definitive - but its not a good sign either.

Jorge has no points cushion in 2013 - he's damn good too, but the rules favour Honda (surprise, surprise) and MotoGP belongs to them. Riders and Mfrs WC's will go to Honda barring massive crashes and incidents for HRC.

It'll happen.
