Regarding the story and what Valentino Rossi is quoted " pity about today because there was good conditions for riding on the track” he said. “It was wet but there was no wind and not too much water so it's a pity that because of the helicopter we cannot ride. It's an important day today because it looks like tomorrow the weather will be worse."

IMO they could have brought the Heli in earlier. kept it in hanger & had Heli up at track. about fog. but it is cheaper to save 2 or 3 days Heli hire?

Honda, who built & own the circuit(s), know & knew they need medivac because of remote location and no on site medical facilities. AFAIK I have never been to Motegi so just going on 2nd hand info.
