MotoGP » Should MotoGP bikes be sold?

A simple idea to help improve the health of MotoGP; require all manufacturers to sell production versions of their grand prix prototype.

A track day rider on an R1 can lap Silverstone faster than Kenny Roberts Senior in his prime and the power output on a R1 is far greater than his 500GP bike.

The engine on a race rep would not have Pneumatic vavles also it will be detuned to ensure that the bike is reliable.

I am sure the bikes can be tamed if you throw in some electronics with Standard, Sport and Wet Weather mapping slipper clutch etc :)
