125: Simon starts fast at wet Valencia.

Having been outpaced by Spanish Championship rider Alberto Moncayo during a soaking wet opening day of testing at Valencia, Julian Simon reasserted his total authority during a slightly dryer second and final day.

The Aspar Aprilia rider has thus been the fastest world championship rider during all five days of 2009 125cc testing to date, first at Jerez and then Valencia, although his Sunday advantage was only 0.129sec - far lower than has been previously seen.

Closest to Simon wasn't team-mate Bradley Smith, but Sergio Gadea, with Smith edging out fellow Briton Scott Redding for third position. KTM's Marc Marquez completed a top five covered by 0.57sec.

The next official test will be held at Jerez on March 25.

Valencia 125cc test - day two (top five):

1. Julian Simon Aprilia 1min 41.839sec
2. Sergio Gadea Aprilia 1min 41.968sec
3. Bradley Smith Aprilia 1min 42.257sec
4. Scott Redding Aprilia 1min 42.290sec
5. Marc Marquez KTM 1min 42.409sec
