Dani Pedrosa's pre-season preparations have suffered a worrying setback after the Repsol Honda rider was stretchered away from a Monday night test accident in Qatar with hand and leg injuries.

The team is yet to officially comment on his condition, but initial medical reports indicate slight damage to his hand, but also suggest he has re-opened the left knee injury for which he underwent surgery in December.

Pedrosa finished last month's Sepang test one day early in order to rest that knee, which he injured on the first lap of the Australian Grand Prix.
