Japanese Grand Prix gets new sponsor

Polini Motori has been announced as the new sponsor for the 2009 Japanese Grand Prix, which will this season host the second round of the MotoGP World Championship.

Replacing A-Style has the title sponsor for the event, the deal sees them add Japan to a portfolio that also includes backing of the Malaysian Grand Prix, the penultimate round of this year's championship.

The Italian bike parts company has a strong affiliation with MotoGP, winning five MotoGP world titles, including three with Valentino Rossi in 125cc, 500cc and MotoGP.

Polini's victories also include more than one hundred national minibike and minicross titles across the world. In 2008 Polini Motori was involved in MotoGP as the title sponsor of the Malaysian GP and also as a partner of Hervé Poncharal's Yamaha Tech 3 Team.

The Japanese Grand Prix will be held at the Twin-Ring Motegi.

Is it true that Hospitale Barcelona and Brembo's new anti-lock brake systems are considering sponsoring the German Grand Prix at Sachsenring in 2009? Mrs. P. (this is yet another attempt at humor, if it is not funny to you :D, just move along... or get irate )
