Rossi and Lorenzo’s one-two finish.

Valentino Rossi's second place finish to Jorge Lorenzo in last Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix marked only the second time in Rossi's premier-class career that he has finished runner-up to a race-winning team-mate.

The only previous occasion was at the South African GP in 2002, when Rossi's Repsol Honda team-mate Tohru Ukawa won the race after a last lap pass.

Lorenzo, who took his debut MotoGP victory at Estoril last season, also remains the only rider other than Rossi to win for Yamaha since The Doctor first rode an M1 in 2004.

Max Biaggi is the third M1 race winner, during the machine's debut 2002 season.

Rossi is the greatest, He always leads the way, Eight times world champion, The predator, not the prey. Massimiliano, Thought he was 'the one', But Rossi came along and then, He kicked him up the bum. Sete gave it everything, He tried and tried and tried, But he just could not handle it, So cried, and cried and cried. Little Casey Stoner, Tries to be the best, He'll never be a Rossi, He fails just like the rest. All those Rossi haters, Trash, oh they do talk, They think that they know everything, But they can't walk the walk. To summarise my words right now, No matter what you say, Think before you hit 'Submit', Bye bye, farewell, good day. :)

@ButtBob, 'the show pony' on his way out? gee golly mr. moto expert! since when does two consecutive podiums bode the end of a rider's career? i guess we all must be so used to seeing the pony on the top step that anything less is 'the end of his career'. get a grip ******! this is only the third race of the season forchrisssake! and the first 'real' race, back in euroland. the good news is things are shaping up to look a lot more competative with at least four guys capable of being fast this weekend however it could be a lot more with the honda boys starting to show up, now it's time for capi and the vermu to show up in the top 5 and who knows maybe even kentuk might finally gun it.
