The latest in a long line of rule amendments for the 2009 MotoGP season has seen the three free practice sessions, and single qualifying session, held at each grand prix returned to one hour in length.

The sessions in question were cut to 45 minutes at the start of this season to help reduce running costs, but teams found it put unnecessary pressure on the mechanics and engineers to make quick technical changes.

Friday morning free practice, removed completely for 2009, will not be reinstated.

The new weekend schedule for all three classes will be as follows:

FRIDAY
125cc: 12.40-13.40 (free practice)
