Wet weather in Italy.

After two days of bright and sunny track action, a rain shower arrived at Mugello on race day morning, soaking the Tuscan circuit.

The 20-minute warm-up session will thus take place in fully wet conditions, with fans still sheltering under umbrellas.

It remains to be seen how long the rain will last and if conditions will improve in time for this afternoon's race.

Valentino Rossi will be chasing his eighth consecutive home win in the 23-lap grand prix.

Finally Nicky has a decent warmup! Great news. I hope he continues to improve in the race and it provides something for him to build on during the season. I notice he was getting better each lap - thats the way it should be. Saw a few of the Ducati riders sideways a few times (Stoner, Canepa). Bit of a heart starter. Here's to a good race!
