Rossi attends Isle of Man TT.

Reigning six time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi enjoyed his weather-delayed visit to the Isle of Man TT on Monday.

The Italian superstar and countryman Giacomo Agostini were invited to the event by Dainese, and the two most successful premier-class grand prix riders in history watched trackside as John McGuinness won the Superbike TT at an average speed of over 130mph.

Rossi presented McGuinness with his prize before he and Agostini took to the track for a parade lap of the world-famous 37.73 mile (60.7 km) circuit.

“The lap is great and impressed me a lot because I know that it's dangerous and also fast,” he told a packed press conference. “I don't expect a road like this to be a track and it is unbelievable to be going flat out around it on a Superbike. You need to have two great balls!

“For the first lap it's impossible to push for the first lap. I want to come and make five or six laps to understand it better.”

Agostini, an eight time 500cc world champion, raced on the famous Mountain Course between 1966 and 1972, winning 10 TT races which then held world championship status.

Rossi will be back in MotoGP action during this weekend's Grand Prix of Catalunya.

It's great to see Rossi attending what is the greatest series of true road races in the world. I've been around the mountain course and it's hard to imagine averaging a lap at over 130 mph! The best riders aren't crazy, just have a real passion for true road racing. I hope no one dies this year.
