Elias penalised

Toni Elias has become the second rider at Assen to receive a 20 second post-race penalty, which drops the San Carlo Honda Gresini rider from eighth to twelfth in the MotoGP race classification.

The Spaniard received the penalty after pushing Suzuki's Loris Capirossi off track at the final chicane. Elias recovered from the incident to claim eighth while Capirossi dropped from sixth to tenth, which now becomes ninth.

Earlier in the day Nicolas Terol lost second position in the 125cc race after a 20-second post-race penalty for a similar last lap incident with world championship leader Julian Simon.

Why 20 seconds? Why not 10? Or 30? ridicilous.
They should have taken the championship points away.
