Espargaro take four-wheeled win.

Aleix Espargaro beat a selection of fellow grand prix riders during an indoor kart race at the Sachsenring circuit on Thursday.

The Spaniard, who has taken Gabor Talmacsi's vacant seat at the Balatonring Team, held off fellow 250cc rider Alvaro Bautista with Repsol Honda's Andrea Dovizioso the top MotoGP rider present in third. Three heat races took place before the final.

Other MotoGP riders taking part in the event were Marco Melandri (Hayate), Alex de Angelis (Gresini Honda) and Niccolo Canepa (Pramac Ducati).

All were using four-stroke 'arrive and drive' type karts, a long way from the 250cc two-strokes which Valentino Rossi, Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson and Kenny Roberts drove around the full Laguna Seca circuit at the recent US GP.
