Lorenzo wants good Donington result

Jorge Lorenzo has pledged to do his best to provide the British Grand Prix fans with a repeat of last weekend's tense Sachsenring finish, but with the top two positions reversed.

Lorenzo lost out to Fiat Yamaha team-mate and world championship leader, Valentino Rossi, by just 0.099sec in Germany, leaving him 14 points behind the reigning six time MotoGP champion heading into this weekend's tenth round.

An injured Lorenzo rode from 16th to 6th in last year's Donington Park race and will again be recovering from injuries this time around, during what will be the last MotoGP event at the East Midlands circuit for the foreseeable future.

“Of course I am disappointed about the result in Germany but considering my physical condition I have to be happy about such a close second place,” said Lorenzo, who sustained shoulder and foot injuries at the previous Laguna Seca round.

“It's a pity we don't have a week off now so I have more time to recover, but I will try to relax for a few days at least and build my strength some more. I like Donington a lot and this is the last year there so I would like to try and leave with a good result.

“I expect that all the British fans are hoping for another race like in Sachsenring, so we will see what we can do but of course I hope the result is reversed this time!” smiled the double 2009 race winner.

“The weather in Donington can be bad so my biggest wish is that it stays dry, we had enough rain in Sachsenring! However if it does rain the that's not the end of the world either because we showed on Saturday that we are very strong also in the wet,” the 22 year old concluded.

“Last year Jorge rode a brilliant race after a bad race the week before, so we know that he likes the track,” declared team manager Daniele Romagnoli. “He has been so strong at the last few races and on Sunday he came tantalisingly close to another win, so we're hoping that it's just around the corner for us. He is riding very well and package is good so we know we have the potential. Let's hope it's our turn this weekend!”

Gary, like you i would like ot see Jorge win, but not in the same manner, Jorge is due a result, being as he has contributed to some good races, it would also be good for the championship if jorge or stoner won, but in all as long as Motor Cycle Road Racing wins over other Motor Sports, that is the important factor. This ain't aimed at you, but I cannot understand why so many people wish ill of other racers, like they are enemies of the state, we should admire them all.
