125: Espargaro leads Friday practice.

Pol Espargaro, winner of two of the last three races, set the fastest lap time during Friday practice for the 125cc Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island.

The Derbi rider edged out Briton Bradley Smith by 0.255sec, with Nicolas Terol a fraction slower for Jack & Jones Aprilia.

Smith's Aspar Aprilia team-mate Julian Simon - who starts this weekend with a 50.5 lead over Smith and therefore with an excellent chance of securing the title - was fourth fastest, with KTM's Marc Marquez fifth.

Come on Scott, step it up. I hope he's back on the pace soon. Memories are short in racing and if he isn't careful Donny 2008 could end up being the one highlight of his career, rather than the stepping stone to stardom we all hope it will turn out to be. Oli
