Pedrosa wants rear grip.

Dani Pedrosa has given an indication of what improvements he needs from Honda in order to be a title contender in MotoGP next season.

The Spaniard, who has won two races every season since his 2006 MotoGP debut, has claimed just one victory so far in 2009 and now has just two rounds left to try and reclaim third in the championship from Casey Stoner.

“We have some problems going into the corners with rear grip. It is difficult to control our bike going into the corners,” said the Repsol Honda rider. “It's many things. It is difficult to explain everything.

“I think at the Valencia test we will have the chance to test [some solutions].”

Pedrosa is six points behind triple 2009 race winner Stoner, who missed three rounds due to fatigue.

Have none seen or met any of the GP riders? All of this claptrap about Pedrosa not weighing a lot sounds great in isolation, but with probably the exception of Rossi and maybe Edwards, they're ALL tiny and weigh next to bugger-all. It's just somehow Pedrosa has got the starts nailed. As for the whole Hayden/Honda development thing, no point in turning back the clock. The only Honda rider in recent years that has consistently been at the sharp end week in/out has been Pedrosa. There's a lot of pointless negative comments made on this site at times, bashing particular riders or even companies. Strange, because I'll listen to what a rider has to say anyday, rather than some idiot MCN journo.
