After PR appearances in Thailand and Indonesia, 2009 MotoGP World Championship runner-up Jorge Lorenzo enjoyed a week's holiday on the nearby Indonesian island of Bali.
”He will be in Bali until December 7th,” a source confirmed just before the holiday. “He stays in an unbelievable resort but we cannot say the name for security. He is going there with a close friend and fellow rider, Ricky Cardus, who usually trains with him.”
Lorenzo has been to Bali before and “was surprised by the beauty of the place and really enjoys it. After his holiday, he will start preparing for the next MotoGP test, during the first week of February at Sepang.”
These two pictures from the holiday show Lorenzo giving the thumbs up before going out in a boat and keeping in shape with some beach football (see below).
Meanwhile, there could be a visible link between the massive motorcycle market in Indonesia and the factory Yamaha MotoGP team next season, with plans being made to put Yamaha Indonesia's tagline “Semakin di Depan” on the YZR-M1's of Lorenzo and reigning seven time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi.
The tagline became popular after it was spoken by Rossi during a television commercial, filmed during the Italian superstar's visit to Indonesia in February 2009.
Lorenzo then spoke those same words, which mean 'always one step ahead' when he attended the recent launch of the Yamaha Jupiter Z. The Spaniard is also expected to appear in a forthcoming Indonesian TV commercial.
Yamaha sells nearly three million units in Indonesia each year.
