Friday 5pm - Sepang MotoGP test times

Rain storm brings Sepang test to an end...
Full lap times after the third and final day of the first 2010 MotoGP test session, held at Sepang in Malaysia.

Following a wet start, circuit conditions steadily improved and the track was effectively dry by around 1pm.

World champion Valentino Rossi was the last of the riders on track, at 1.15pm, while Gresini Honda's Marco Simoncelli walked away from a fast accident shortly afterwards.

Due to the morning rain, Friday testing was due to finish one hour later than planned - at 6pm - but heavy rain returned at 5pm.

Under new rules, the first day of testing (Wednesday) was for test riders only, so Friday marked only the second day of 2010 action for the MotoGP race riders, many of whom were using their new bikes for the first time this week.

This week's outing was the first of three pre-season tests to be held before the start of the new racing season, which begins at Qatar on April 11. The next test is also at Sepang, from February 24-26.

To be less than a sec behind Stoner, and making your track debut, is impressive stuff from Spies. Normal service resumed otherwise, although Jorge seems to have a bit of gap to make up..and didn't improve in the afternoon, chasing set up perhaps..? A smidge over a sec between 5th and 17th..this is brewing up nicely.
