Capirossi keen to test 'everything' in Qatar

Loris Capirossi sets himself a detailed programme ahead of the final MotoGP pre-season test at Losail
Loris Capirossi admits Rizla Suzuki has a lot of work to do when MotoGP pre-season testing resumes in Qatar this week, although he maintains he is 'fired up' for it.

The 2010 Suzuki GSV-R will be making a first appearance in its revised colour scheme around the Losail circuit from Thursday, with Capirossi and Alvaro Bautista hoping to build on the form shown during testing at Sepang last month.

Indeed, Capirossi says the team will need to knuckle down and focus on 'almost everything' over the course of the two days.

“I am totally fired up for the next test; we have only had a few days on the bike this year so we need to get as much done as possible over the two days at Qatar,” he said. “We have a lot of testing to do on the engine, chassis, electronics, in fact almost everything.

The Italian says he is particularly interested in finding out how far the bike has come since last year's visit to Qatar.

“It will be very important to see how the bike is performing this year in changeable conditions, so as it gets colder at night in Qatar that should be a good test of how we stand at the moment.

“The GSV-R worked well in the hotter conditions in Malaysia, but this time out it will be very different and we will all be looking very closely at the data to see how things have changed since we last came to the desert.”

Loris is an enigma. Everyone wants him to do well on the Suzuki, but deep down none of us actually expect him to! (Not due to Loris, but due to the struggling GSVR) Forget 2007, 2006 could have been Loris' year if it hadn't been for the evil pile up whih claimed him and Gibernau. He was (is) a true 990 rider, despite him also excelling on the 250. Can't see the logic in comparing the GSXR WSBK and GSVR moto GP bike though? They are completely different animals and sadly WSBK lessons can't filter 'up'. The Gixxer thou may have ruled at Phillip Island a few weeks back but I'm afraid that doesn't transfer to the world of GP racing.
