Jennie Gow joins Charlie Cox, Steve Parrish and Matt Roberts for the BBC's 2010 MotoGP coverage
Jennie Gow replaces Suzi Perry in BBC line-up
The BBC has named Jennie Gow as its replacement for Suzi Perry in an otherwise unchanged MotoGP TV commentary line-up for the 2010 season.

After 13 years of covering motorcycle racing for the BBC, Perry decided to leave the grid for the final time at the end of the last season - and today (Wednesday) the BBC has officially confirmed that Gow will take her place, joining commentators Charlie Cox and Steve Parrish, plus pitlane reporter Matt Roberts.

Billed as 'the new face of BBC MotoGP', 32-year-old Gow has an 'extensive background in newspapers, radio and television, presenting motocross and speedway'.

"It's a dream come true," she told BBC Sport. "It's the most amazing opportunity for anyone who's into bikes, I can't wait to meet every rider and every person involved with it - there isn't a rider I'm not looking forward to meeting.

"I call myself an honorary biker - I've got a lot to learn, and I'm very aware of that, but hopefully the biking community will welcome me.

"I come to it from the fans' point of view - Steve and Charlie are there as the pros, I'll bring you the fans' enthusiasm.

"Suzi has been amazing with bringing on bike coverage," she added. "She knows it inside out as she's lived it for so long. It's a massive challenge for me and I hope I can do it justice. If enthusiasm counts for anything then I've certainly got lots of it - I hope I can do a decent job for the fans."

The first round of the 2010 MotoGP season takes place at Qatar from April 9-11.
