Scottish rider Kev Coghlan, the reigning Spanish and European Supersport champion, is continuing his preparations for an assault on the Spanish Moto2 title in 2010.
“Things are pretty much sorted for the Spanish Championship in Moto2, we were even on track yesterday at Catalunya,” said Coghlan, who finished fifth in the recent Daytona 200 AMA Sportbike event.
“We got a good day in, it was a bit cold but we got a chance to try some things. We had a lot of problems with the change to Michelin tyres - in the Spanish championship everyone will be on Michelin - but the times would have put me third at the Moto2 test in February.”
Coghlan is also hoping to secure the sponsorship needed for some wild-card appearances in the Moto2 World Championship class this year, including at his home British Grand Prix.
Coghlan and his FTR Moto2 machine will be at the Scottish Motorcycle Show in Edinburgh this weekend.
