Stoner eyes first Jerez victory

The former champion bids to put Qatar behind him as he starts his season from Jerez instead
Following a disastrous start to the 2010 MotoGP season in Qatar, Casey Stoner heads to the second round in Spain determined to kick start his title campaign with a first victory at Jerez.

The Australian was looking good for the win at Losail after a commanding performance through practice and qualifying, but an error early on in the race would see him crash out of the lead and allow arch rival Valentino Rossi a clear path to victory.

Faced with a 25 point deficit to Rossi in the standings already, Stoner is now bidding to get back on track with a win around the Jerez de la Frontera venue, a circuit that he is yet to taste the winners' champagne at.

“It is pretty unusual for a GP to be postponed but like last year in Qatar it is the kind of thing we can't predict or control so we just have to look ahead to Jerez and the job that awaits us there," said the Ducati rider. "In the past it hasn't been one of the more favourable circuits for us but we made some steps forward last year and finished on the podium.

“We start from zero this time around though and on Friday we'll be working hard to find a set-up for the race. You need good handling for this track but also good stability and I think the direction we've taken with development of the GP10 should allow us to be competitive on Sunday.”

We all know that Casey is capable of being a World Champ. I'm not saying he's the best rider over a hole year, because thats Rossi. he has the skills and the ducati is working great for him. we all know Casey can fight with Rossi, last year just wasn't his year, what he did the last races was great, although Rossi never gave it max for the points. So go casey and GOOOOOOOOOO Rossi
