When might Rossi sign?

At last weekend's French Grand Prix, reigning seven time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi joined his main rivals in claiming it was 'too early' to talk about 2011.

But it is hard to believe that Rossi - like Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa - is not already working on a deal for next season... after all, Rossi signed a new contract with Yamaha for 2008, before the 2007 campaign had even started!

Most believe Rossi will remain at Yamaha next season, so when might he re-sign? Rossi's past contract history shows the very latest he has agreed a Yamaha contract extension is August...

Valentino Rossi's contract history with Yamaha:

November 2003: Having left Honda, Rossi is officially confirmed at Yamaha for 2004 and 2005.
August 2005: Rossi is officially confirmed at Yamaha for 2006.
June 2006: Rossi is officially confirmed at Yamaha for 2007 (deciding against F1).
February 2007: Rossi is officially confirmed at Yamaha for 2008 (before the 2007 season had even begun!)
July 2008: Rossi is officially confirmed at Yamaha for 2009 and 2010.
