Nicolas Terol, who lost his 125cc title lead by one point to Pol Espargaro last Sunday at Silverstone, hit back with a dominant performance in Thursday free practice at Assen.

The Aspar Aprilia rider, fourth at Silverstone after a last lap clash with Efren Vasquez, finished the first hour of 2010 Dutch track time with an advantage of 0.195sec over man-of-the-moment Marc Marquez, winner of the last two races.

Fellow Derbi rider Espargaro claimed third place, almost half a second from Terol, whose team-mate Bradley Smith was fourth fastest and the final rider within one-second of the top.
