125: Marquez tops Assen qualifying

125cc man-of-the-moment Marc Marquez will start the Dutch TT from pole position after leading Friday's qualifying session at Assen.

The Red Bull Ajo Derbi rider, winner of the last two races, took his fourth pole of the season by a commanding 0.584sec from Aspar Aprilia's Bradley Smith, having made sure of pole with a further last lap improvement.

Smith took second from team-mate Terol by just 0.090sec on his very final lap, while Tuenti Derbi's Pol Espargaro - who took the title lead from Terol by one point last weekend at Silverstone - will complete the front row with fourth on the grid.

Espargaro was over one-second slower than fellow Spaniard Marquez.
