Alex de Angelis has expressed his delight at being given the opportunity to make his MotoGP comeback at the German Grand Prix with Interwetten Honda.

The Sammarinese rider has been called up as a longer term replacement for the injured Hiroshi Aoyama on the bike, de Angelis jumping at the opportunity to rejoin the premier class following a dismal tenure with Team Scot in Moto2.

The Saschsenring is a good place to start for de Angelis too having finished fifth with Gresini Honda last season, although this weekend will be his first outing on the 2010 RC212V.

"This is a very good chance for me to continue in the MotoGP as replacement for Hiroshi Aoyama. I am very, very happy that I am back on the MotoGP bike. Last year at the Sachsenring circuit my result was not bad, I finished fifth.

"I hope I will be able to adapt to this new position very fast and give the team the best result for the coming race, as the Sachsenring GP is partly a home race for the team. I am looking forward to it for sure."
