Having already ascended the rostrum on four occasions out of seven this year - what is fast turning into indisputably his finest season in MotoGP to-date - Repsol Honda star Andrea Dovizioso has his sights set on the highest step in Germany this weekend, to avenge a potential victory thrown off the track in Catalunya last time out.

The ever-tenacious and consistent Italian duelled over top spot with eventual race-winner and FIAT Yamaha's runaway championship leader Jorge Lorenzo in Spain, only to slide off the circuit just ten laps from home and ultimately take the chequered flag a lowly and frustrated 14th.

However, encouraged by the speed he displayed, Dovizioso is confident of being able to replicate that kind of form when the premier class visits the Sachsenring - and with it seal only his second-ever MotoGP triumph aboard the RC212V.

"I'm look forward to racing in Germany again and I believe we can get a strong result this weekend," affirmed the 24-year-old former 125cc World Champion. "The Sachsenring racetrack is quite short, with a very slow first section followed by a very fast second half. Usually there are so many spectators all the way through the weekend - they are truly passionate about motorsport and the atmosphere is really good."

"In Barcelona we had very good race pace that allowed us to stay with the leader for two thirds of the race - this was really positive. We had the pace to fight for the top position and, even though the final result was not good, we can say that we improved a lot and proved that we are almost where we need to be.

"At every race this season we are improving - we take one step forward at a time - and now we have to take the final step and really challenge for the win. We will continue working towards that, starting this weekend in Germany."
