125: Marquez leads Sachsenring practice

Marc Marquez laid the foundations for a fifth consecutive race victory by leading 125cc Friday practice for the German Grand Prix by a huge 0.833sec.

The Ajo Red Bull Derbi rider, unbeaten since his first grand prix victory at Mugello and on pole for the past three races, took the title lead by one point from Pol Espargaro last time out in Catalunya.

Espargaro was also closest to Marquez on Friday, and the only rider within one-second of Marquez. Espargaro's Tuenti Derbi team-mate Efren Vasquez was 1.1sec from Marquez in third with local star Jonas Folger an impressive fourth for Ongetta Aprilia.

A bad day for reigning champion's Aspar Aprilia saw Bradley Smith only eighth quickest while former title leader Nico Terol missed the session, indicating that the back injuries sustained at Catalunya proved too great to ride.

Friday practice - Germany:

1. Marquez (Derbi) 1min 27.435sec
2. Espargaro (Derbi) +0.833s
3. Vazquez (Derbi) +1.190s
4. Folger (Aprilia) +1.237s
5. Cortese (Derbi) +1.283s
6. Koyama (Aprilia) +1.495s
7. Rabat (Aprilia) +1.630s
8. Smith (Aprilia) +1.684s
9. Krummenacher (Aprilia) +1.696s
10. Webb (Aprilia) +1.898s

The kid is totally dominating the field. Once he got that 1st win and got that confidence that only comes from winning. He's going to be tough to beat. I wonder how long they'll be able to keep him in the 125 class?
