The German MotoGP at the Sachsenring has been red-flagged on lap ten due to a fiery three-bike accident.
Ninth-place Randy de Puniet fell from his LCR Honda, with his bike then exploding in flames after being hit by Pramac Ducati's Aleix Espargaro and Rizla Suzuki's Alvaro Bautista.
de Puniet and Espargaro required medical attention, and all three riders will miss the restart because they failed to return to the pits with their bike within 5 minutes of the red flag.
The new race will be over 21 laps and will start in the order at the end of lap 9.
World championship leader Jorge Lorenzo had been leading Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa by just 0.335sec at the time of the accident, with Ducati's Casey Stoner 1.2sec from the lead in third.
Andrea Dovizioso was 2.6sec from Lorenzo and coming under pressure from Lorenzo's Fiat Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi, returning to action from a broken leg.
Tech 3 Yamaha's Colin Edwards crashed out before the accident.
Order at end of lap 9:
9. de Puniet
16. de Angelis
