de Angelis eyes rookie scalp for US GP

Alex de Angelis eyes rookie scalps at Laguna Seca as he looks to build on his Interwetten Honda debut.
Alex de Angelis is confident he will progress up the order when he makes his second appearance for Interwetten Honda at Laguna Seca following a steady debut outing at the Sachsenring.

The Sammarinese rider returned to MotoGP competition in Germany, but struggled for the most part to get dialled in on the Honda RC212V having stepped on it for the first time during Friday practice.

Nonetheless, de Angelis still scored points in 12th and is buoyant that he can go better in the United States, pointing out that many of the rookies in the field have not raced at Laguna Seca before.

"For sure it will be easier for me in Laguna Seca, as it is the second race for me in MotoGP after Sachsenring,” he said. Also many of the new MotoGP riders have never been to Laguna, so it is new for them as well and they have to adapt and learn like me. So I think it is easier to be part of the group there.

“The first practice will be a first practice for all of us. My target is not to be last in the race. I know it will not be easy, but I will try whatever it needs to make it happen."

I am sorry but I got a Chuckle when you combine DeAngerous and Target in the same article. I hope your wrong Kiyo. Aoyama deserves another year in MotoGP to show what he can or can't do DeAngelis had his chance.
