Bradley Smith overhauled 125cc World Championship leader Marc Marquez on his very last lap of qualifying at Misano, to claim his second pole position of the season.

Marquez had dominated most of the 40-minute session, with continual improvements keeping the Red Bull Ajo Derbi rider just ahead of Smith - until the Englishman finally put his Aspar Aprilia in front by 0.242sec with the chequered flag waving.

Marquez also improved on his last lap, but it wasn't enough to deny Smith - the Spaniard lapping 0.158sec slower.

Sunday's front row will be completed by Marquez's fellow title rivals Nico Terol (Aspar) and Pol Espargaro (Tuenti Derbi).

Marquez, Terol and Pol Espargaro start this weekend's eleventh round covered by just five points at the top of the standings, while Smith will be seeking his first win of the season.
