Moto2: de Angelis to ride at Aragon

Alex de Angelis will try to overcome the 'emotional scars' of Shoya Tomizawa's death after being given the chance to stay with the JiR team for this weekend's Aragon round.

de Angelis was one of two riders to hit the fallen Tomizawa in the Misano race, where de Angelis was running just behind the Japanese in fifth on his return to Moto2 and debut with JiR.

“From a physical point of view I feel good, I have no consequences after the crash I had at the San Marino GP, but I still feel the emotional marks from that accident," admitted de Angelis.

"I got a little depressed about what happened in Misano, so I'm working hard to overcome these difficult times.

"For this reason I want to ride my bike again, I don't know the effect this will have yet, but it will be a challenge I have to face with determination and commitment.”

Scott Redding, the other rider to collide with Tomizawa, will also be back on track at Aragon.

I've always liked Alex. Hope he can put aside those feelings and have a good race - I think that'd be the best thing for him right now.
