MotoGP rookie Hector Barbera has mixed memories of the Motegi circuit, venue for this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, but believes he is now in his best form of the 2010 season.
"Motegi beings back a lot of memories - some good, some bad. I took the second victory of my career there so it has a special place in my heart but it was also the scene of one of my worst injuries," said the Aspar Ducati rider.
"I think Motegi can suit the Ducati and I am confident of a good result this weekend," he continued. "I always enjoy visiting Japan and I feel comfortable riding there. Last year didn't go to plan but I am sure it can be better this time on the Ducati.
"I am going to go for it - I am in a good run of form, possibly my best of the season.
"I just want to focus on enjoying myself and improving at the same time to make sure we get to Valencia feeling like we have done our job. I feel confident and will be pushing hard to see what I am capable of."
Barbera, already signed at Aspar for 2011, is twelfth in the world championship, just four points behind Colin Edwards.
The Spaniard has claimed a best race finish of eighth so far this year.
