PIC: Lever guards for Elias

Moto2 world championship leader Toni Elias is prepared for some bar-banging action after fitting this guard to protect the front brake lever on his Moriwaki.

The Gresini rider has the first of five chances to win the first ever 600cc grand prix title this weekend at Motegi.

Is it April the first? With all the things that could enter the soft tissue in MOTO2 I can't imagine anything worse than something developed from a whaling harpoon and jemmy. Is it designed to hook on to a fairing using the maxim "if I go down I'm taking you with me" Its kind of sad that with all the brains in the paddock that this ever got made. Surely a strong nylon loop mounted at the bar end and extending to the brake lever pivot bracket would serve better without the negative side. Perhaps an angle to encourage separation?
