Dani Pedrosa left the USP Dexeus clinic in Barcelona at 10:00 a.m. this (Monday) morning, after a successful operation to plate his left collarbone fracture on Saturday.

The Head of the Hand Surgery Unit at USP Dexeus, Dr. Xavier Mir, discharged the rider 48 hours after the operation, having observed that he was recovering as expected.

On Wednesday, Pedrosa will return to the clinic in Barcelona to check how the injury is progressing after the operation.

As yet, there is no news on when Pedrosa - the only rider with a mathematical chance of beating Jorge Lorenzo to the 2010 MotoGP title - might return to the racetrack.

Lorenzo, who now holds a 69 point lead over Pedrosa with four rounds to go, looks set to seal the championship in Malaysia this weekend.

Pedrosa fractured his collarbone when his throttle stuck open on his Repsol Honda just three laps into Friday practice at Motegi.
