Bradley Smith, now mathematically out of 2010 125cc World Championship contention, has pledged to help team-mate Nico Terol in the final two rounds.

Terol starts this weekend's Estoril event 12 points behind title leader Marc Marquez (Ajo Derbi), with third title contender Pol Espargaro (Tuenti Derbi) 17 points from the top.

"Nico is fighting for the title, which is very important for the team, so if I can help him to take points off M?rquez I will do my best," said Smith, who is fourth in the championship. "I finished on the podium at Estoril last year and my feeling with the bike was good all weekend so I hope it's the same again this time around."

Terol, who has led the standings several times this season, has finished on the podium at the last seven races, but must now beat Marquez.

"It was a good trip [overseas] because we were on the podium at all three rounds although we weren't able to prevent Marc from winning all of them so we have room for improvement," said Terol.

"There is a bit of frustration bubbling underneath that I am sure I can turn into the positive aggression I need to get back onto the top step of the podium in Portugal. Last year I crashed whilst battling in the lead group but in general it is a good track for me."

Terol is staying in 125cc with Aspar in 2011, while Smith - expected to move to Moto2 - is still to sign.
