Race direction has decided to abandon all qualifying at Estoril after rain continued relentlessly on Saturday afternoon.
Friday morning practice had been a washout, before wet sessions took place on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
But the rain got even worse thereafter, initially causing qualifying to be delayed and then cancelled when conditions failed to improve.
Combined free practice times will therefore be used to decide the grid line-up for all three of the grand prix classes.
For MotoGP, that means new world champion Jorge Lorenzo
continues his perfect premier-class form at Estoril with his third pole from three appearances.
The Fiat Yamaha rider will be chasing his third Estoril victory in a row on Sunday.
Lorenzo will be joined on the front row by Ducati's Nicky Hayden
and team-mate Valentino Rossi.
