Moto2: Talmacsi 'pole' at Estoril

Gabor Talmacsi handed pole position for the Portuguese Moto2 Grand Prix at Estoril after qualifying cancellation.
The cancellation of Saturday's qualifying sessions at Estoril means grid order will be decided by combined free practice times.

That means Gabor Talmacsi (Speed Up) has taken his first Moto2 pole ahead of Julian Simon (Aspar), new world champion Toni Elias (Gresini) and wild-card Kenan Sofuoglu (Technomag-CIP) - the reigning double World Supersport champion.

Alex Debon fractured his right collarbone this morning and will not race.

Grid order - Estoril:

1. Talmacsi (Speed Up) 1m 50.916s
2. Simon (Suter) +0.388s
3. Elias (Moriwaki) +0.443s
4. Sofuoglu (Suter) +1.033s
5. de Rosa (Tech 3) +1.892s
6. de Angelis (MotoBI) +2.317s
7. Hernandez (BQR) +3.298s
8. Aegerter (Suter) +3.331s
9. Takahashi (Tech 3) +3.386s
10. Bradl (Suter) +3.640s

25. Redding (Suter) +5.258s

There ain't no justice. Ant West well quickest for an entire session, faster than all the regular Moto2 riders & faster than Kenan the WSS champ as well. So what does he get for this imperious demonstration of wet weather riding skill...Naff all....damn rule makers. No I don't think I want Duckworth & Lewis to make more regulations. Still it would be good to see Ant get to start closer to the front, to reward him? I have no solution to offer. Um Dusty, I didn't see, what are you on about?
