The first day of post-season testing at Valencia, including the debut of Valentino Rossi with Ducati and Casey Stoner with the factory Honda team, has been delayed by a damp track at Valencia.
The weather has improved since earlier rain, but the track is silent at present as riders wait for it to dry.
Almost one hour after the track 'opened', Rossi arrived on a scooter and walked into the back of the Ducati pits in casual clothes.
Rossi's crew chief Jerry Burgess is wearing plain black and, like most team members, is stood in pit lane chatting.
Italian superstar Rossi will not be able to talk to the press after the test, but Ducati Corse boss Filippo Preziosi is expected to comment.
Seven time MotoGP champion Rossi, who has ridden a Yamaha since 2004, will try both a 'big bang' and the previous 'screamer' engine design for Ducati at this test.
Rossi will ride a plain black Ducati with a yellow 46, Stoner will ride a white Honda with stars and a kangaroo logo.
UPDATE: Rossi appears in black and yellow leathers at 12:15 local time and should be out on track soon.
