Moto2: SAG announces 2011 plans

SAG to FTR in Moto2 next year, Santiago Hernandez to ride alongside Ratthapark Wilairot.
The Stop And Go (SAG) team has announced its plans for the 2011 Moto2 season, which will see the team switch from a Bimota to FTR chassis and run rookie Santiago Hernandez alongside Ratthapark Wilairot.

Wilairot, currently recovering from a serious road traffic accident while at home in Thailand, took a best finish of fourth for SAG last season but points finishes were few and far between and he was left 22nd in the championship standings. Wilairot scored all of Bimota's points.

Wilairot and SAG will have their sights set much higher in 2011 after switching to FTR, which won the Valencia season finale and a further three races in modified Speed Up form. Next season will be Wilairot's fifth with the Spanish SAG team.

Riding alongside Wilairot will be Santiago Hernandez, younger brother of 2010 Blusens STX rider Yonny. Santiago made his grand prix debut as a wild-card at Aragon, where he finished 23rd for Matteoni (Moriwaki).

Bernat Martinez and then Ricard Cardus rode the second SAG entry in 2010. The M Racing team also ran a Bimota chassis from Misano onwards last season.
