"Graham Crosby was drafted into the UK team because not enough Brits of the caliber needed AND with suitable machinery were available".Posted by The Truth WRONG !! The Transatlantic Trophy series was the common wealth v USA,Crosby was allowed to race as New Zealand is ruled by the British monarchy and therefore part of the common wealth. He only raced the Transatlantic series in 1984 if i remember correctly 2 years after retiring from international racing and this was just for fun and not a serious comeback by him, trouble was he was on a bag of sh1te 4 stroke at the time which wasn't competative. The top 5 yanks were all onboard factory 500s and Haslam was our only rider on a factory bike and he gave the yanks a bloody good run for their money,Sheene was on Mamola's year old Suzuki and still having trouble with it and all the other Brits were on production bikes.
